Halo had over 5000 dialogue snippets in it - Halo 2 has 3 times that many. That doesn't stop dedicated fans from attempting to catalogue them all. Beginning on November 15, Captain Spark began sending in snippets from the game, collected with as little background noise as possible. As in the first game, we will accept submissions from anyone, with the same proviso we used for the Halo Dialogue Databank. And, as before, if someone submits a better version of an existing clip, we'll substitute it for the one we have - but the original submitter will retain credit. (This hasn't been a problem in the past - here's hoping it's not one in the future, either.) Subsections will be added as needed. Please mail submissions to halotalk@bungie.org.

Regret's giving a speech... a sermon, to be exact. So far it's the standard Covenant liturgy, but I'll translate if he says anything interesting. | mp3 | cortana | 182K | 2/3/05 | KaworuNagisa |
And people say I've got a big head. | mp3 | cortana | 49K | 2/3/05 | KaworuNagisa |
After that stunt on the Cairo, I KNOW you're not afraid of heights. | mp3 | cortana | 42K | 2/7/05 | Captain Spark |
Listen up, marines. The Chief's hunting a prophet... and you're going to help him kill it. | mp3 | cortana | 55K | 3/3/05 | Captain Spark |
You might consider sitting this one out. | mp3 | cortana | 25K | 5/12/05 | Captain Spark |
If this thing goes off... I am NEVER talking to you again. | mp3 | cortana | 52K | 12/2/05 | Captain Spark |
Just a friendly reminder? Bomb. | mp3 | cortana | 50K | 12/2/05 | Captain Spark |
Ask yourself this question: Is what I'm doing right now helping Cortana keep this station from blowing into tiny, tiny bits? | mp3 | cortana | 109K | 12/2/05 | Captain Spark |
Oh, I don't think so... | mp3 | cortana | 26K | 3/3/06 | Captain Spark |
His throne is shielded - it's deflecting everything you throw at it! Get in close, and do whatever you can. | mp3 | cortana | 76K | 3/3/06 | Captain Spark |
Watch yourself! Honor guards! | mp3 | cortana | 31K | 3/3/06 | Captain Spark |
You've got to get him out of that throne! | mp3 | cortana | 31K | 3/3/06 | Captain Spark |
The Covenant has control of the bridge ahead. They're going to try and bottle us up on this side of the gorge. | mp3 | cortana | 165K | 4/11/06 | Hellhawk |
The controls to extend the bridge should be in this structure. | mp3 | cortana | 102K | 4/11/06 | Hellhawk |
I saw it too. It looked like a temple. If I were a megalomaniac (and I'm not) that's where I'd be. | mp3 | cortana | 194K | 4/11/06 | Hellhawk |
Hold here until the pelican arrives, Chief. | mp3 | cortana | 81K | 4/11/06 | Hellhawk |
Good. The bridge is down. Now about those wraiths... | mp3 | cortana | 111K | 4/11/06 | Hellhawk |
This is the way the world ends. [From Halo 3 Trailer] | mp3 | cortana | 50K | 5/10/06 | KMS Ahrnaieanin |

I wish I had time to decipher these inscriptions. The Forerunners revered this place - that much is clear. But was it a temple? A university? I can't say. | mp3 | cortana | 335K | 8/1/06 | Captain Spark |
I'll do what I can to slow the launch sequence. There's something inside the ship... a presence - it's fighting back! For a Covenant construct, it's unusually formidable. | mp3 | cortana | 278K | 8/1/06 | Captain Spark |
No time to admire the view - Truth's Phantom has reached the Forerunner ship! | mp3 | cortana | 143K | 8/1/06 | Captain Spark |
Thanks for the tank. He never gets me anything. | mp3 | cortana | 52K | 10/3/06 | Captain Spark |
Let's wait for our warthog. Unless you really want to walk... | mp3 | cortana | 50K | 12/20/06 | Captain Spark |
1. All submissions are given with the knowledge that the clips are freely available for use in any OTHER fan creation - barring those that violate Bungie's copyrights, of course. If a submitter wants to limit how his clips can be used by others, we actually don't want them in the database. Submitters get full credit for extracting the sounds from the game - but relinquish all rights to the clips past that. This disclaimer is being added solely because we don't want fights to break out if a submitter isn't happy with the way his clip is used by another site visitor submitting, say, a Flash animation. If you think you will have trouble accepting the fact that others are using the clips to make fan creations for the community - don't submit.
