Covenant colony Glory 10/2/2623 UNSC Strike Force 17
The space millions of kilometers away from Glory, a green jewel of a planet hanging in the night sky, boiled and cakcled with energy, and 25 UNSC cruisers came out. Each Medusa-class cruiser, with the standard UNSC look of armored plates and geometric shapes, were heavily armed, with 20 heavy particle cannons, which can deal a crippling blow in one shot, and 200 point defence turrets, which was a heavy armament for a ship slightly smaller than Covenant frigates.
Each cruiser were powered by a single quantum singularity and 8 gravitametric fusion reactors, far more superior than Covenant plasma reactors. These power systems gave energy to powerful sheilding and the tremendous weaponry.
The Medusas also carried 10 Viper-class attack flyers, smaller than a fighter, but smaller than Covenant corvettes. They were heavily armed, with a single light particle cannon for engaging capital ships and a single CO2 laser for engaging the numerous Covenant Seraph fighters.
The Medusas and Vipers were also formidable in planetary bombardement, as they carried anti-matter missiles which could cover a planet in blue feiry energy.
The cruisers put their massive ion engines to full thrust and sluggishly moved towards Glory, as pod bays opened and a total of 250 flyers came out in front of the fleet.
The Covenant fleet guarding the planet, with 20 frigates and 10 destroyers, noticed the oncoming human fleet, and launched their Seraphs and charged their plasma weaponry.
The flyers and cruisers charged their powerful particle cannons, and red beams of protons being thrown at near the speed of light hit the Covenant formations, ripping Covenant purple hulls and melting their smooth organic forms. The Seraphs were caught in the cross fire, as both particle cannons, the cruisers' point defense turrets and the flyers' CO2 lasers caught them in feiry cherry-red energy.
The Covenant fleet fired plasma torpedoes, purple arcs of superheated helium launched towards the human fleet. Seven hit a single cruiser, but powerful sheilds protected the ship, and the cruisers fired their main batteries, destroying the Covenant ships.
The space around Strike Force 17 was littered with dead Covenant hulls, venting atmosphere and plasma, spinning lazily in space. The cruisers and flyers regrouped and charged towards the now defenceless planet. Anti-matter missiles fired from the flyers and cruisers, and they streiked towards the planet. All of the missiles hit. Blue fire spread through Glory, completely covering it in deadly energy.
The planet was left in a charred barren rock planet, all Covenant killed. Strike Force 17's flyers went back in their cruisers, with no casualties, and the fleet went back to Earth to report their success.

Covenant Dreadnought Light of the gods Orbitting Citadel 10/2/2623
However, Strike Force 17 didn't kill all Covenant ships. A lone stealth ship on the far side of the system recorde the desperate fight and went back to Citadel. Citadel was the main military planet of the Covenant. The entire surface was filled with weapons factories and military schools. The space above Citadel was filled with numerous shipyards and ships, with massive orbital batteries protecting the planet.
High Prophet Slimmich brooded in his hover chair on the loss of Glory, when another High Prophet Gremmich hovered next to him.
"I have heard of the loss of Glory by those human vermin", said Gremmich.
"Yes, the loss will be recorded in the Hall of Warriors", said Slimmich, and released a low sigh of sadness and anger.
"The Council is deciding what to do with these humans. We haven't defeated them before. Now their technology is superior to ours. Rumor has it that they are making a massive fleet and are preparing to strike us!", said Gremmich.
"Yes, they have defeated us before, but do you know why?", asked Slimmich.
"How is that?", replied Gremmich.
"We didn't devote our entire fleet. We merely sent a flotilla to quash them. Now they are a serious threat", said Slimmich.
"What do you propose we do?", asked Gremmich.
"We build the biggest fleet, bigger than any we have ever constructed, and we finally defeat the small humans. They only control three solar systems. We must detroy their primary system, with their home planet. Then we can easily kill them", said Slimmich.
Gremmich left, and Slimmich mentally thought of the new fleet he would contruct to finally kill those inferior humans...
Covenant High Council 10/4/2623 Covenant Main planet Temple
The ornate gold meeting room was filled with High Preists, their robes decorated with medals and religious icons displaying their power.
Slimmich hurried into the Council room on his grav chair.
"What is the meaning of your calling", said one of the Council Members.
"I'm sure all of you have heard of the trajic loss of our planet Glory. Billions were perished when the human vermin bombarded it mercilessly. I beleive we should build a massive fleet, larger than any before, and attack their home system. Now they are low in numbers, although technologically superior, than us. We can outnumber them beyond their beleif. We should do it as soon as possible before they build their fleets larger any more", explained Slimmich.
The High Council was silent for a moment, and then each of them silently talked about it together.
"What will be the cost of this fleet?", asked a Council member.
"We will need the work and industry of all of our systems, and we shall be able to make this 'Gold Fleet'", explained Slimmich.
The High Council members then talked about it more to themselves, before turning back to Slimmich.
"You have 23 Slochs (7 Earth Months) to make the Gold Fleet, and you shall lead it yourself. May the gods be with you", said a High Council Member.
"As with you", said Slimmich, as he exited the High Council room happy that he will finally be able to get revenge on those humans.
