We tell a song of warrior brave, And right the story set; We shun the Truth and sing of thee The Prophet of Regret.
He charged to sacred ruins old, There not to be unmet By foes whose plan was to withhold The Prophet of Regret.
His ships were vast, his courage wrought, His plan was sure, and yet The humans and the Demon fought The Prophet of Regret.
His mighty surge down to the Earth Cast wide his silhouette; The human army fought with dearth The Prophet of Regret.
Though caught by enemies off guard, And fraught with fateful fret, Still on fought he with navy scarred The Prophet of Regret.
Yet now outnumbered he did plead, He called all to abet The Covenant in time of need The Prophet of Regret.
He called, and pled, yet they came not For Truth issued his threat, And demonized the brilliant plot Of Prophet of Regret.
Now, faced with flight or certain doom, Impossibly beset, He made his choice to flee the gloom, The Prophet of Regret.
To Halo fled he, swift, and still; The humans pursued yet; The desperate hierarch to kill, A move they would regret.
The Demon they unleashed on us, Our courage to upset; Like a scourge he slaughtered thus The Prophet of Regret.
Though hard fought he, and mightily Still, Demon was to get On Halo cursed victory Oh, warrior Regret!
The human fools have now released That ancient evil flood, So many of our long deceased Kept prisoned with their blood.
The Forerunner are now above With humans most upset: They did not heed the warnings of The Prophet of Regret.
They won, you say; or, nay, we lost, No challenge overcame. To you I say, what is the cost Of icon there to claim?
The Sangheii now lay desolate Their power stripped by Truth; It seems his plan was intricate To replace us with Brute.
Now, my brothers, I ask you, Who will you not forget? I hope for hope, our race's friend, The Prophet of Regret!
