Jake took a lonely sigh as he finished mopping up the remaining Covenant. The Marines' bodies lay strewn throughout the camp. All of their heads were gone it was disgusting. Jake decided it was time to move on, and see if he could make it to the next camp of Marines. He could not believe those three AI's were planning to over-take the human race. They must be crazy.
Jake was cautious when he left the base, weary eyed- looking for any regroups of Covenant. After he got far enough to cool his nerves, he decided to lower his guard. Maybe he could find one of those "survivor cities" he had heard about.
The cities were made up of remainders of humans that managed to survive the Covenants' attacks. He heard that they had places for soldiers to stay. He had over heard one of the rookie Marines blabbering about how he had gotten a "nice piece of ass" at one of them.
Jake didn't even care about "pieces of ass" he just wanted some food and a bed. Jake had never even thought to remove his armor before. He thought that maybe he should find a clean river, and was out the "skull suit" (thank you MGS) that was under his armor. Now-days, finding a river with no blood or bodies in it was a challenge, but Jake managed to find one.
When he was done washing off his armor, he soon learned that he wasn't the only one at the river...
"Hi!" a female voice shouted out, followed by a giggle.
"What?" Jake turned around, fully armored, and turned around to see a woman, about 23 standing across the river.
"Nice body," the woman hopped across a series of rocks to the other side of the river.
"Uh," Jake stumbled over his words, and quickly tossed his helmet on.
"Wait, you're not a normal SPARTAN are you?" she took a closer look at him.
"Uh, I can't tell you that," he looked at the ground, after surveying her thoroughly.
She was pretty, about five feet, five inches tall, and she had brown hair, easily down to the middle of her back. Blue eyes.
"So, what's your name, no wait, what's your number?" she giggled.
"215/66, but I do have a name," he grinned.
"Really? What is it?"
"Jake," he blushed, good thing he had his helmet on.
"Cool, what are you way out here for?" she strapped on an Assault Rifle.
"I need food and a bed," he thought about the cities, "you from a survivor city?"
"Yup, follow me," she took off into the woods.
They ran through the woods, and eventually came to a drop-off.
"What do we do now?" Jake asked.
"Down there is the ruminants of Cadillac," she wiped some sweat off her brow.
"MICHIGAN!!" he asked.
"Yup," she smiled.
"I WAS RIGHT NEXT TO FUCKING CADILLAC MICHIGAN!!!!"
"Yes's"
"Oh my God, I'm pretty far away from Toledo then aren't I?"
"Hell yes," she smiled come on, we have some ropes down the way," she ran off.
Once they reached the town, he looked around, it was a sorry sight. The houses were mostly destroyed; a lot of people barely had clothes on. He grimaced when he saw the ribs of people poking out of their shirts.
"HEY WE GOT A SPARTAN HERE!!!" she announced to the town. "Get him some food and a bed!"
The people gathered around them, and gasped in awe at him. She lead him up to the nicest building in town, and laid him down on a bed.
"Undress, I'll get you some sleeping clothes," she smiled, and left.
He took off everything but his skull suit, and waited for her to return. When she got back, she frowned, obviously expecting him to be naked, and then sat down next to him.
"What, you can leave for one more second can't you?" he asked.
"Here, you have to get used to being naked with other people, its not to nice over here," she turned the other way, "this better?"
"Yeah," he took off his skull suit, and put on the clothes, "all done."
"Ok," she turned around, and lay down on the bed.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"You need someone to keep you warm," she rubbed the covers flat where he could lay down at.
"Sure," he lay down, and covered up, he heard get up to shut the door, then return to the bed.
To be continued
