Cover fire! Cover fire! Sergeant Tyrell Fitzgerald ordered as he sprinted from a team of spec ops covies. Owens and Scott fired their MA5B assault rifles down tunnel. Fitzgerald tapped Scott shoulder to fall back and was signaling to Owens, when Owens' innards and blood splattered across the wall. Fall back, marines! Fall back! Lieutenant Davidson ordered. Davidson dropped his MA5B and began cutting down covenant with his M9D sidearm. Tyrell shoved the barrel of his weapon to a jackal's stomach and fired. The jackal was torn in two and the body slumped. Screw this! Fitzgerald yelled as he ran for the exit of the tunnel. Several marines gave the much-needed covering fire. Corporal Brant fired a burst and threw a fragmentation grenade. Davidson fired the last of his magazine, and hit the controls to close the blast resistant doors. Shhhh! Scott ordered, two Phantoms dropships inbound. All of the marines fell silent and took cover.
Tama 'Ulmammee sat in the troop bay of the dropship, peering down at the Earth city below. A grunt named Sagat stole a glance at the Special Operations team of black clad members of the Elite. Sagat never knew why they were treated so well and respected so highly, they died just like all of the other covenant if that human in green armor showed up. Gagaw, the grunt next to Sagat, made a strange gurgling sound. Sagat directed his vision towards Gagaw, a confused look on his face. The other grunt had a fist-sized hole punched into where his breathing apparatus should've been. Neon blue blood spat to the deck.
Holy crap dude, you hit 'em! Private Carlson commented to Lance Corporal Jones. Jones smiled as he watched the grunt he shot out of the dropship fall to the ground. Private First Class Richie Scott walked over to Davidson. Sir two Phantoms just touched in that valley. New Berlin, Germany lay by an open valley and forest, which gave the marines lots of fighting room. Conner Davidson liked it this way. All right ladies, stay on your toes, we've got covie dropships down there! Bustrum, Jones, Carlson and Fitzgerald move in and keep it quiet. A series of ''Yes Sir's'' followed. The team took a minute to ready their silencers and moved in.
Tyrell took off his helmet and replaced it with his bandana. Bustrum kneeled searched the area with his duel SMGs, and threw his hand forward signaling to move in. Tyrell moved forward, Bustrum beside him. Jones and Carlson crawled nearer to the covenant-landing zone. Both readied their SR rifles, and got to work.
Sagat wanted to hide behind a rock and curl himself into a ball and hide, but he knew 'Ulmammee would have his head. The covenant began splitting into squads: one brute per squad, two elite's, four grunts, and two jackals. Luckily, Sagat was ordered to guard the Phantoms until the three strike teams softened up the human forces for complete control of the city. Sagat, Taga, Yayap, and Lindap were left to cover the ship. All carried needler guns, sufficient to maybe take down a human marine if they used them together on one target. The teams departed and went for the humans. Sagat took a deep breath, looked around, and drifted into a light sleep.
Lock and load marines, its show time. Jones said as he peered through his scope and found his target. Firing in three...two...one. By the end of Jones' magazine, three covies ceased to exist. Carlson opened up on the grunts by the Phantoms.
Sagat was awoken immediately to see Taga's head explode. Lindap sprinted for cover but another bullet sent him head over heels. Yayap grabbed him and pulled him behind a rock. What happened? Sagat asked panicking. S-s-sniper! Snipers must be out there! Uh-oh. Sagat knew the human weapon could even take down a brute in two shots. We have to run for it! Yayap exclaimed. No way! Those humans won't miss twice! Sagat said. No, No, we could jump into the dropship and fly the heck outta here! But- I don't care! Yayap screamed, I'm getting outta here! Yayap made it about four feet before another sniper round struck him in the face. Sagat winced and tried to find better cover.
Go! Bustrum Go! Go! GO! Bustrum sprinted towards the Phantoms. Matt Bustrum pressed his back to the Phantom and looked around the other side and sneaked in and planted the two BISCOW mines, activated the bombs and leaped out, crawled behind a rock and covered his head and neck. The explosion rocked the ground and pieces of the Phantom sprayed overhead. Matt looked up to see a plasma rifle leveled with his forehead.
