Corporal Scott stepped off the Pelican drop ship and downed two grunts that weren?t looking with his pistol. His unit was selected for a flank on the covenant. The Pelicans had taken the long way around the battle and thru a mountain range to avoid detection. His unit was a special force?s unit, he had jacks of all trades all of them unique in their weapon preferences and excelled at those. He him self being a small arms specialist carried two frags, one incinerary grenade, two md12 pistols, the beefed up version of the md6 with more damage but less distance, extra ammo, one md6 with extra ammo and one smg with two extended clips. All right troops this is how I want it, Delta split in to six sniper spotter teams; I want two on either flank, Felix the rest is your call Scott ordered. Delta donned their cammo after a little direction from Felix. As soon as the six teams of two hit the small thin alpine forest they disappeared. Bravo make an infantry box and advance slowly towards the covie line stop just out of sight youre the anvil so keep those heavies tight, going to need the fire power. Charlie Bravo listen up, Scott pulls out a map, Bravo I want you here in this clearing Charlie you need to be here on this small hill just north east of bravo its heavily forested and closer to the covies dig in and set remote mines from here to here. Bravo this is your line of retreat yes I know its back across the mines their remote for that very reason. Alpha youre with me, Ill set it up as I go. Move out troops. Scott signaled the pelicans to lift up and return to the battleship class cruiser the Avatar of Hope, the biggest ship ever made by us. Alpha were going to take this by the numbers Stilton your on point. As soon as alpha made it to the small forest some thing felt wrong like something bad was going to happen no matter what he did. Scott shook it off no sense worrying. A gruff looking marine with 5-0-clock shadow and bulging muscles cocked his custom made rifle and stalked stealthily to take point. Scott still wondered how such a large man moved so quietly. Ok marines Bravo and Charlie are the anvil all we need to do is move the covies into it. Scott kind of went into his own mind and there was an A.I. he felt it in his mind and the actual chip in his brain. Eisenhower I want to know the closest covenant battle forces position and how to best engage them. Ok accessing covenant battle net, up loading satellite pictures and UNSC high command on Alana. We have a large convoy moving about 200 meters north of Bravos position, the best way to deal with this is to make an L short part angling towards Bravo. Get that Scott whispered into his mic as he duck behind a tree for cover as his team slowly advanced forward. Twelve affirmatives were heard in his ear piece. Ill send your positions to the HUD on your helmet; I want radio silence from here on out call in when you?re in position. The group of marines split up as they moved slowly thru the forest. Fifteen minutes later Scott ran into a problem a covenant patrol was where he needed to be and coming right towards him The wind was blowing up at him the jackals wont smell him as long as he is down wind. He thought of his options, grenades are too noisy along with his hand guns he thought bleakly; and with his knife he wouldn?t be able to take them both on. Then his decision was made for him when the jackals stepped out on either side of the tree he was crouched behind. He swiped out with his leg knocking one jackal to its feet as he planted his dagger into its temple it died screaming and with purple brain matter seeping on to the ground. At the same time he put a heavy lead slug into the other jackals head from his md12. The head burst like a melon showering a mix of blood, brains and bone everywhere and getting it all over Scott. But he didn?t stop to brush it of he was already twirling around shooting and issuing orders to the rest of his unit.
