Author's note: After cracking a large Writer's Block, I'm finally back with my new fiction about a Sangheili. This is based on those two black Sangheili who are running at the final stages of the Maw. Well, enough talking about the story. Why don't you just read it for yourself?
The Covenant dropship flew towards the Human spacecraft. When it landed, Sangheili and Unggoy hopped out. Finally, three more Sangheli hopped out last. One Sangheli's armour was gold which glinted in the sun as he walked. The other two were black. The gold one who was named Yuta 'Fourmee gave out orders while the two black Sangheili walked up behind him. "So, here is the ship which escaped from Reach.", said 'Fourmee. "Yes", said one of the black Sangheli named Jacka 'Jamme. "Do you think the soldiers will be able to survive with the Flood on board? "Yes." And then he added quietly, "Except maybe 'Arnomee over there." Kamma 'Arnomee is pretty short for a Sangheili. The only reason he was black, was because he was fast and good for stealth missions. Nobody really liked him except 'Jamme who was usually his partner in missions. The Covenant would say it would be different to be in his armour. But nobody really knows because nobody has ever been in it. Except for me. I've been in 'Arnomee's armour. Because I am 'Arnomee.
I was running through the long hallways with 'Jamme on the, what the humans call "Pillar Of Autumn". Even though I didn't know what it meant, what kind of name is that? When we rounded a corner, a Flood Infection Form popped against my armour. I shot at the remaining flood infection forms with my plasma rifle. Behind them all was a combat form. I could tell that it was a Sangheili. There was a time where I saw an infection form go into the chest cavity of one of my brothers. It was really gruesome. I fired at the combat form until my plasma rifle overheated. With a wack, 'Jamme hit it down. I've noticed my plasma rifle never works well on the flood. There was a time when I was out of ammo, and my only choice was a human shotgun. The gun worked well on the flood. This brings me to a story.
A couple years ago, I was young and foolish rookie in the military. Idiotically, I returned with a shotgun and pistol and stored it in the armoury for future use. When the Field Master saw it, I was in huge trouble. I told the Field Master that the weapons may be primitive and small, yet nimble and powerful. I'm surprised that I didn't get demoted the rank of the Unggoy. For a while, I was treated like a Kig-yar. "Shaming the gods". That's what I got punshied for about. How about "violating military protocol"? I don't think it would be shaming the gods if I took a barrel full of metal, that happened to be made from the humans.
Don't get the wrong idea about me. I do hate the humans. No, hate is the wrong word. I dislike humans. Of course if I see a human, I'll kill it. But I don't treat them diseases. That's why most Covenant don't like me. I'm not bad, just.....different. 'Jamme and I were supposed to rendezvous with 'Fourmee after we did our explored the ship. After that, we were just supposed to scout the area. Pretty boring life. When we met up with him, a voice cackled into our radio, " 'Field Master Fourmee, engine state critical. Evacuate immediately" We all knew what to do. An explosion knocked part of the ceiling in front of us. I followed 'Fourmee around the debris. Meeting us at a door, a wave a Flood ran toward us. We fought all we could, until I saw 'Fourmee's armour flash and then fade. I ran to cover him. I got most of the flood away except one infection form, got past me. I gazed in horrour as the flood jumped into his chest cavity. I grabbed 'Fourmee's energy sword, and slashed at the infection form. It exploded, as well as the energy sword. 'Fourmee lay motionless on the ground. I knew then that 'Fourmee was dead. 'Jamme and I ran into a huge hallway. Just then, I saw a human jeep about to charge into me. I jumped out of the way just in time. Before the jeep was out of sight, I saw green armour in the driver seat, and instantly knew it was the demon.
The demon. The Prophets had told us that the demon in the green armour was deadly. He could fight like any Sangheili. Of course I don't know for sure because I've never fought him. It might just be Unggoy rumours that somehow got to the Prophets.
We came to a gap in the hallway. "It's too far to jump!", shouted 'Jamme over the explosions. I jumped and grabbed a pillar. I climbed up onto the platform. "Jump!", I shouted. He jumped, and I caught him by the arm. "Ok, how do we get down to the other side?", he said. "The same way". I climbed down the other pillar. When I got to the bottom, he climbed down. We ran into another room. I saw a downed dropship. "I hope that dropship is working", I said. 'Jamme and I ran towards it. A flood combat form jumped between us. I fired my plasma rifle. So did 'Jamme. We were both out of ammunition. I quickly grabbed a nearby human pistol and shot it. It when down in two bullets. "It's very primitive and small", said 'Jamme. I flipped the small human device around in my large hand. "Yet nimble and powerful", I said remembering the time. We ran into the Covenant dropship. 'Jamme and I tried to ignite the engine. It flared to life after trying two times. We flew out of the hangar. We flew out into space. I watched Halo. With a flash of light, a piece of Halo broke off. As I thought about the human ship, only one thing ran trough my mind. Primitive and small yet nimble and powerful.
Authors note: My writers block ended in French class. French class is that time of day when I can just sit back and think. The character "Yuta 'Fourmee" represents French class in a way. The French word "Foumillere" means "ant".
