R.I.P
Here lies a man, Clad in black clothes, Medals are glimmering, Upon his chest, a rose.
Here lies a martyr, Him losing his wager, Of living on to fight, His rank, a Major.
Here lies a difference, A retired helping hand, Shot in the line of duty, Killed, taking a stand.
Here lies a fighter, Deceased and confined, The body on satin, Being protected, Mankind.
Here lies a corpse, Worthless and expendable Only to the naked eye, On his officers, dependable.
And finally, Here lies Marc P. Clyde... A soldier, a fighter, Known worldwide, A platoon abandoned, Assistance denied.
Wind, a tiny gust, Brushing his cold hair, Aside; His faded eyes closed, No light found, Inside.
Rest in Peace, Major, It's tough to be dead, And a world away, No funeral, no head, No ceremony, but a bed, It's the best the galaxy has to give, Savor the feeling instead, No more fighting in the new place you shall live.
Rest in Peace, Major, Rest in Peace.
