The drop was perfectly normal.
"We had a squad of Helljumpers drop in first," Command said,
the sounds coming half-mute through the receivers,
"But as usual, they all died."
A pause and someone started laughing within the Pelican,
and deep within his gut the laughter bubbled too,
and the laughter spread, wide and out, before
it scattered loud over them all.
It was all so amusing that
no one noticed the enemy craft
hanging fast and loose on their tail:
the crash was fast, and before they hit the ground
they remembered that there were no laughs to be had.
