Return of the Chief: Chapter 1: Lab Experiments

Master Chief woke up choking on an antidote. He leaned over the side of the rough bed and gagged, getting the slim out of his system. He tried to remove his hands from his sides; they wouldn't move. Master Chief noticed his hands were cuffed with a titanium rim. He took a look around the room. Test tubes, microscopes, needles and other scientist fascinated things were scattered through the room. It took only a second for Chief to figure out where he was, a science lab. The rim was plainly way weaker then Master Chief's MJOLNIR titanium type-A armor. He gave the rims a harder push up into the air. The rims rattled as they both flung into the air.
Master Chief sat up in the bed. Now to break the foot hinges. These were stronger titanium bars but his armor could still break it.
Chief gave a push with his legs. The hinges snapped back.
Master Chief stood upon the the cold stone floor. It was very cave-like and seemed like underground because of the coldness. Next to Chief's bed was a table filled with science things and documents. The table next to that was crammed with human weapons that he was very familiar with. He walked over to it. HE9 fragmentation grenades, M90 shotguns, combat knives, MA5B assault rifles, MA75 battle rifles, RV50 miniguns, M1B3 flamethrowers, STINGER grenade launcher, S9-00012 AM sniper rifle, Jackhammers, mines, mortars, M6D pistols, plasma pistols, plasma rifles, plasma cannons, needlers, Fusion rod launchers, plasma grenades, incendiary grenades, smoke grenades, gas grenades ETC, loaded the table. Chief smiled at the site and grabbed an M6D pistol and walked out.
The hallway was long and creepy. Water dripped from every corner of the cave, soaking the armor of Chief's foot. "Chief! Your here." a voice yelled from down the hall. Chief stood still and pointed the pistol in his direction. The figure ran closer. Chief scooted up the tunnel. The man came even closer to Chief. The man then fell straight to the ground face first.
Master Chief ran towards the fallen man at three KPH. Plasma came from the far end of the tunnel. Chief turned on his stomach and slid down the tunnel. He caught the man and continued to slid to the end of the tunnel.
Chief suddenly crashed into the end of the passsage. He josseled the man free.
"God, Chief it's good to have you back." the man said to Master Chief.
"Who are you?" Chief asked the man.
"Private Johnathan McDaniel." the man responded.
"Do you have any other men with you?" Chief asked.
"Yes sir, team Alpha is up above on the street waiting for me to get you out of here." the man explained.
"What happened anyway, why was a locked in a bed with test tubes all around me?" Master Chief questioned the man.
"Well, you were taken captive by the Covenant sir. They took you to their secret underground lab to get technology information from us sir. Here." the man handed him small computer. "Sergeant Phillips said to put that in the back of your neck." McDaniel said.
Chief slid the chip into a small opening in his armor. The chip gave him a charge. "Hello John." a female voice said. "Cortana?" Chief asked.
"Yes, at your service." she replied.
"I'm with Private McDaniel. I saw him running in these caves an-" the Chief stopped
"Actually, these are not caves Chief; these are sewers." Cortana interrupted.
"Okay, so where did the plasma come from?" Chief asked.
"From there!" McDaniel yelled pointing one of his smgs down another tunnel. Down the tunnel came two jackals, and four grunts.
McDaniel opened fire with his dual smgs. Two grunts crumpled up on the ground, dead. One jackal fired a small blast of plasma. The plasma carried through the air and hit McDaniel in his left arm. He dropped to the ground, shaking, and holding his bare bone.
Master Chief pulled the trigger on his M6D pistol. The bullet plunged into a third grunt's neck, as gushing blood spewed from the wound.
Master Chief dropped his pistol and grabbed McDaniel's smgs. He fired a burst of one. It turned the last grunt into cottage cheese as it fell to the floor.
Chief fired both of his guns, disabaling the jackals shield. Chief then ran up to it and kicked it in it's ribs, breaking the rib cage. He lifted his head up and punched the last jackal in the jaw, breaking it.
"McDaniel, he's..Dead." Cortana sadly said.
Chapter 2: Ancient Artifacts

"Wow, look. It's so beautiful." Private Thomas said staring at the large hunk of gold sitting on a small plaform in the middle of a huge silver cave-like room. Thomas turned to look at Master Chief and two other marine buddies. "Can we get it, you know take it and run?" Thomas asked. "No, do you know what that thing could do y-" Corpral Barringon's british accent was inerrupted.
"Sure. Try it out." Sergeant Cunningham said. Thomas ran to the gold artifact in the middle of the large room. He layed one hand on it, the artifact made a loud screeching noise and shocked Thomas's hand.
[idnent] Thomas ripped his hand off he gold and stared and screamed at the stub on his left hand. He fell to the floor, wailing in pain.
Suddenly, banging and pounding came from the door behind them. "Barrington, Thomas needs medical attention, go help." Cunningham ordered as the man saluted and walked to Private Thomas.
"Master Chief sir, come with me." Cunningham said. The two walked over to the bulged door.
"I don't know what's in there, but were about to find out... On three I kick open the door and dee what's inside there. Understood?" the Sergeant asked. The Chief nodded. "Okay, one, two, thre-" The doors blasted open as two needles sunk into the Sergeant's stomach and leg. They blew up, sending Cunningham back three feet.
"Corpral, look ou!" Chief yelled as Barrington fell dead over Thomas's corpse with a hole in his side. Through the door barged two jackals and six grunts.
Chief thought quickly as he kneeled down and grabbed Cunningham's MA5B assualt rifle and aimed it. fifteen bullets emitted from the barrel, catching one of the jackal's arm, and leathaly killing three other grunts. Both of the jackals: The wounded and healthy, fired a bolt of plasma at Chief. He rolled to his left, dodging the plasma, causing it to hit the artifact on the platform. The sound came again. This time a large beam of light flew from the arifact. The beam sizzeled the Jackal to it's bones. Chief fired another burst of his MA5B. The bullets lightly penatrated the other jackal's skull, drilling it to the ground. Master Chief avoided the three grunts's fire that were left. He quickly unpinned a frag grenade and and tossed it into the group of three. Four seconds later, limbs and bones flew from the doorway.
Chief ran fast to the doorway. He could see nothing; but a big opening to the sunny country-side. "Cortana, do you know what this artifact is or where it came from?" Chief asked the compuerized voice.
[indenet]"Yes, I just got intel on it. This artifact right here is part of an ancient puzzle. The puzzle is made up of four artifacts that make up a superweapon and who ever has the puzle completed and has the superweapon, has the power of the universe. I have just informed ONI of this and tare sending a Pelican in any second. WE also need to take the artifact with us in the large metal case it is sitting on." Cortana explained.
Chief turned back and carefully boxed the artifact in it's case. "There's the Pelican, let's climb aboard." Cortana said. Chief climbed in the side seat of the Pelican. "Punch it." Chief said as the Pelican took off into the country.
Puffs of black smoke blasted below the Pelican. They were coming closer to the dropship. The Pelican turned to it's side as a black explosion smacked the left side of the ship. They fell backwards through the air. "MAYDAY.MAYDAY!" the pilot yelled. Chief jumped freely from the Pelican, green grass and blue rivers below him. "Look! Zoom in with your visor." Cortana said. Chief did as he was told. "Wow, what is that down there." Chief asked as he fell closer to the ground. "That, is a cache of weapons and equipment." Cortana explained.
Chief hit the ground with a thud. He lay there arms out and motionless. Something was wrong with Chief's right leg, it wouldn't move, neiher would the rest of his body. "Chief! Chief! Wake up Chief!" Cortana screamed into his ears. He still wouldn't move. Chief still not moving as a dropship came down overhead. Out of the bay doors of the dropship came a group of five special forces men.
The medic stood over the fallen boots of Master Chief. "Don't worry Chief, I'll get ya fixed up." the man ensured. He took off his medical pack and grabbed a syringe and injected it in a small wound hole in Master Chief's leg armor. The stinging liquid pumped through his body to get his organs working again.
Chief threw his head up in anger. "AAHH! What is this crap?" Chief angerly asked.
[indenet]"Don't worry, it's just some simple medicine to help your wound ya got there." the medic said. Chief looked through the small wound hole. It was already healed. That fast. "That's some prety fast working medicine you got there." Chief said. He looked into the air. Banshees.
Chapter 3: Behind Enemy Lines

Chief climbed aboard the QUADMASTER speed transport. "Take out those fliers!" Chief ordered the pilot. Twin missiles shot from the belly of the small speed ship. Each one hit a banshee, erupting into a burst of orange and yellow. "Got 'em." the pilot said. "Now, what happened down there?" the pilot asked.
"The Pelican was taking me out from a large cave when Anti-Aircraft plasma missiles hit the Pelican and drove us down into the ground. Later, a special forces team came by, and the medic fixed me up. I looked into the air and banshees were soaring above me. Then, you came and picked me up. We just took care of the banshees.. And, I have my artifact." Chief finished as the four-engined speeder exited the earth's atmostphere. Planets, moons, and suns surrounded the transport, or well it seemed like it. "There's the PILLAR OF AUTUMN. That's where I'll take you so you can have a talk with Captain Keyes." the pilot said deccelerating into the landing bay.
The small front door of the tiny ship opened as Chief walked out. He walked across the large bay and up a small case of stairs. Green lights blinked on the side of the door, and opened slowly. The door lead right to the bridge, and Captain Keyes stood at his station, wathching over his bridge officers. He turned around. "Ah, Master Chief, nice to see you again. I heard you found one of those artifacts." Keyes's calm voice said. "I'll take that." Keyes said as Chief handed the artifact over. "Here I'll show you where we think the second one is." Keyes said flicking on a hologram. A large city the color of blue was shown on the hologram. It was a lot like the cave that were Chief had seen the firs artifact.
"This is a Covenant base on Ogama Octanus IV. It is strongly guarded, and might need a little extra firepower to get through it's defense walls. Keep looking until you find it. That is, if you're up to the challenge." Keyes said. Chief nodded. "Good, come with me." Keyes said as he lead Master Chief down a short hallway. "This, is our armory as you might remember. Now I have put together a perfect arsenal for you Chief." Keyes told him. Keyes pushed a difficult keypad combination on the wall and a huge secret door opened. "This is a very confidential room, the only people aloud in is me and you." Captain said. Keyes walked over to a small weapons rack. Chief followed close behind. "Well, if you like it, you could fit yourself up, and head for Ogama Octanus IV." Keyes said scratching the tip of his nose.
Chief went right ahead, and walked up to the rack. "This is your standard primary weapon, the MA75 battle rifle, with a couple adjustmens, the ROF has been increased. And we have also added a small grenade launching tube to the bottom of the barrel. Chief took it in hand. I aslo have this specialy made sniper rifle. The rifle was silver all over except for the butt, it was army camoflauge. The scope was longer and straighter, and below the scope was a laser sight mechanizam. Chief strapped it to his back. "Here is a very good sidearm that comes in handy when your other weapons are out of ammo. The M9D pistol. Absolutely lethal at close range. "Okay. Chief, you ready?" Captain Keyes asked. "Ready." Chief replied.
"Oh, and Chief." Keyes said quickly. Master Chief turned around and saw a short thin piece of metal twirling right at him. Chief tested his lightning fast reflexes as he snatched the handle of the knife out of mid-air. "Very good. Now best be on your way." Captain said slowly. Chief walked out to the room.
1200/military time- Covenant base
Master Chief slowly slid down the high peak of the gravel hill. Dead marines scattered the area, along with Covenant troops. Chief silently jogged over behind a huge metal pillar. He took a peek to the other side. Three jackals were huddled in a small group. Cheif side-stepped out into the open and opened fire wih his MA75 battle rifle. The bullets hit two jackals's shields like raindrops, then depleted them. They turned, and fired plasma charges.
Cheif dodged the bullets by pulling his back behind the pillar. Eight small feet galloped towards Chief's pillar. He grabbed his combat knife and jammed it into a shieldless jackal's stomach, while roundhouse kicking another shieldless jackal in the face. He was now up agianst two jackals. With one hand Chief squeezed the trigger on his MA75 assault rifle. The whole clip ran out as the bullets peppered the closest jackal's stomach. Cheif dropped the clipless assault rifle, flipped the knife to it's blade side and hurled it through the air. The knife twirled end over end and plunged into the last jackal's forehead.
Chief gave a sigh of relief, and then sat down.
