Prediction of Halo 3 (Level 1:Meet Cortana)
Date: 22 December 2005, 1:18 pm
Level 1: Meet Cortana
Location: High Charity
Inside an unidentified Covenant transport:
(There is an optional targeting practice like the previous ones on Cairo and Pillar of Autumn)
CINEMATIC:
(Craft flies across the screen and towards High Charity which has a large chunk taken away. Inside the Covenant transport)
Arbiter: Who is this A.I. you speak off?
Miranda Keyes: She's called Cortana. We've been picking up her signals from High Charity for a long time. I don't know what's been going on down there but we have to find her.
Arbiter: Agreed.
(Trasnport soars towards High Charity and the Arbiter's voice speaks)
Arbiter: Can you tell me where "Cortanae" is so I can land in the right hangar?
(Back inside transport)
Miranda Keyes: It's Cortana, and she's coming from right here.
(Keyes points towards a flashing red dot on the hologram of High Charity)
Sergeant Johnson: Land in that hangar there
(He points towards a hangar on the pilot's view screen. View screen shows the ground coming closer as the Arbiter is landing the craft. Camera turns towards transport's Grav-lift as Elite Councillours drop down followed by Miranda and Johnson)
Sergeant Johnson: Let 'em have hell!
END CINEMATIC
Chapter 1: Arriving
Objective: Find Cortana
Brutes fill the hangar. When you kill them the door unlocks but swarms of Drones enter the room through airvents followed by Infection Forms which immediately nibble at some of the slower Drones. The next corridor contains Jackals fighting Elites, Grunts and Carrier forms. If you take long in the hangar there may be Infection Forms from the destroyed Carrier Forms. If you stop to kill the Jackals and Carrier Forms the Elites and Grunts remaining (if there are any will folow you).
Chapter 2: Home
(Checkpoint)
You then enter the place where it all began for the Arbiter. The Holy Mausoleum. Hunters are fighting Drones and Brutes in here with many Combat forms breaking out of the Arbiter graves. The Infection forms had got inside and infected the previous Arbiters. Once you destroy everything in the room including extra waves of Brute and Jackal reinforcements, and more Combat Forms, Cortana appears on the center pedestal.
CINEMATIC:
Cortana: You made it!
(She turns her head towards the Arbiter and his Elites)
Sergeant Johnson: Freinds.
Cortana: I see
Miranda Keyes: Okay Cortana, what's going on here
Cortana: Who knows anything about an Ark?
Arbiter: The Oracle told us
Cortana: It's just left hasn't it?
Miranda Keyes: Yes thats what he said
Arbiter: But we came here first
Sergeant Johnson: We got your signals so we came to get you
Cortana: Anything from the Chief?
Miranda Keyes: No, nothing
Cortana: Okay then, you have to get to Earth
Arbiter: We have to stop Truth.
Cortana: Excatly, I'll see you all at the hangar bay
(Cortana dissapears)
END CINEMATIC
Chapter 3: Back to the Hangar
Objective: Get back to the Hangar
(Checkpoint)
Miranda walks over to the door you came through but it's locked.
Miranda Keyes: It's locked, Cortana
Cortana (over ComLink): Ma'am, I'm afraid I can't overide that security system. Take the door on the opposite side. You're going to have to take a detour. (When you aprroach the door) Wait, I'm picking up movement. Watch out!
The door explodes sending shards everywhere and Sentinels emerge. Combat Forms are chasing them. Whenever either you or the Flood attack them they begin to fight back. When you destroy all over the Sentinels and/or all of the Combat Forms (Whichever comes first) Brutes and Jackals come from behind you down a Grav-Lift. When you go out of the Mausoleum you are on another bridge. When you reach the middle Infection Forms climb over the edge and surround you immediately. They are VERY high in number. Johnson who still has his Particle Beam Rifle from Halo 2 puts it away and takes out double SMGs. Miranda hands you one of hers and you can choose to take it or not. When you kill them all the next door opens but there are no enemies.
Cortana (over ComLink): Take a left at the end of the corridor
The bending corridor contains thousands of Flood spores and large "blobs" in the corners that look like the bodies of Carrier Forms. There are only some small Infection Forms scurring across the floor. At some point in the corridor two Grunts (If there are any left) start to talk.
Grunt 1: Me got a bad feeling about this
Grunt 2: You always got bad feeling about something
Grunt 1: Not always, this time me have very bad feeling because me hates Flood
Elite: Quiet, you are squabbling over nothing while our lifes are at risk!
There are many corpses and bits of metal from Sentinels. Two dead Hunters lie in the middle of the T-junction. The door on the right is locked. When you walk through the door on the left you hear screams of Elites, Grunts and Hunters and infront of you are hundreds of their corpses. You have entered The Inner Sactumn through a secret passage and you see Half-jaw being pulled into a hole by Gravemind's tentacles.
Half-jaw: No! No! Noooo!
His screams die down after a while. If you jump down and attemp to save him you fall through a seemingly bottomless pit. You die half-way down. The lift that the Mater Chief entered through earlier is down at the bottom and if you jump down the door is locked so you have to activate the lift to get back up. When you walk through the door that the Chief entered through earlier (which is still open) two cowering SecOps Grunts who have dropped their Rod Cannons you can pick them up if you want but be ready to listen because the Grunts are talking to you.
SpecOps Grunt 1: It was horrible, they came and dragged our comrades away
SpecOps Grunt 2: The Sanheili were sceaming at us.
SecOps Grunt 1: I can't believe the Great Journey is a lie!
No matter how much you wait they will not move, If you kill one the other will just run around in fright. The door the Chief walked through is locked however and you take another door on the left. Then you reach another hangar. However, it is filled to the brink with Flood of all types, Elite and Human Combat Forms are still rising from the floor fresh from being infected.
Cortana (over ComLink): I'm remote plioting a Phantom to your position now, sorry I had to pick the hangar with all the Flood in it
Chapter 4: Onslaught
Objective: Wait for the ship that Cortana is remote piloting to you
(Checkpoint)
Sergeant Johnson: Next time check before you-- Ah get off me!
Both Miranda and Johnson are invincible so you don't have to worry about them dying. Sometimes more Flood climb over the edge and join the battle so the wave never ends. (After a little while of fighting)
Cortana (over ComLink): Wait a minute, Theres another Phantom closing on your position! But there's life signs onboard, only one, and injured
CINEMATIC
(A Phantom lands in the hangar and opens its grav-lift
Half-jaw (Weakily): Get... in
Arbiter: Half-jaw what are you doing here?
(The Arbiter goes on first talking to him)
Half-jaw: Never mind that lets go!
(Everyone climbs aboard and the camera cuts to outside the Phantom. Gravemind's tentacles wrap around the Phantom as it tries to pull away)
Gravemind (referring to Cortana and Half-jaw): You have not answered and you have not suffered...
(His voice drifts away slowly)
Sergeant Johnson: C'mon, Go! Go!
Gravemind: Nooooo!
(The Phantom Eventually pulls away and the screen goes white about to cut to Earth and the next level)
Prediction of Halo 3 (Level 2: Don't Mess with Earth)
Date: 5 January 2006, 10:01 pm
Level 2: Don't Mess with Earth!
Location: Outside the atmosphere of Earth
Inside the Ark:
SPARTAN-117: Sir, finishing this fight
(After a while of thinking)
Lord Hood: ODSTs en route Chief. Do me proud
END CINEMATIC
Chapter 1: Boo!
Objective: Find a way to get to the bridge
Drop pods land near you. There are about seven ODSTs with an arssortment of Dual Magnums, Batlle Rifles, SMGs and Rocket Launchers emerging from the pods. One brings you new Mark VII armour and you automatically put it on. You are in inside an open bay and if you walk out you just die and float into space. Only one corridor leads away into the ship. First you find Butes with their backs to you. (Because of the things Bungie will be able to do with games when Halo 3 comes out, the enemies are much more sensitive to sound and are more realistic, such as interacting with the enviroment). If you manage kill both Brutes silently (this can be tricky because of the sensitivity) then you can listen in on a short conversation:
(Your new Mark VII armour has a translator that can translate any form of alien communication. The one exception are Hunters because humans still do not know enough about their unusual communication)
Brute 1: Rumors are going round that that annoying Demon has boarded us!
Brute 2: That could not be possible!
Jackal 1: It isss. Regret'sss ssscanner haasss shown he isss somewhere nearr usssss.
Brute 1: See, even Kig-Yars know of this word
Jackal 2: You mussst be bliiind not to ssseee it
Marine: Boy are they in for a hell of a surprise
If you do not kill the Brutes silently then the two Jackals and Brutes will come round the corner and you will not hear this. When you go round the corner and kill the enemies there is a door behind them. The doors are old and Forunner and they are like human blast doors. If you walk up to it will open automatically but slowly. When you walk through the door there is another infront of you marked Justice 02 and another on your left (Justice 03) when you look at the sign a Marine says:
Marine: Hey Chief, Lord Hood said we have to find a craft to get to the top of the ship where Regret is. Otherwise it would take forever to get there and Earth would be obliterated by then.
To your right a very wide endless corridor (much like the tunnels in the level "Outskirts" from Halo 2) has been light dimly and you can not see far down the tunnel.
Marine: Sir, scanners show a switch at the end of this tunnel, we better get moving
Chapter 2: Tunnel of Light.... Beams
Objective: Get to the end of the tunnel and activate the switch to gain access to Hangar Justice 02
A Spectre and a Ghost lay infront of you. Whichever vehicle or seat you choose the Marines will fill up the other availible spaces. Two stay behind because of the shortage of places. When you drive round a bend a short way down the corridor a bunch of Ghosts are waiting for you. Sticking out about half-way up the wall on the left side is a Covenant plasma turret. A Jackal is manning it. There is also a gravity lift to the side which alows troops to get to the implacemant. If you wish, walk onto the grav-lift and hold X (as usuall). The Chief will atuomatically ascend and man the turret. On the other side is a platform with a Jackal sniper standing there. When you go round the bend to right you meet up with a Shadow guarded by another Ghost and Spectre. If you destroy the Shadow it's crew of eight which consist of three Major Jackals and five Minor Jackals will escape. After this encouter you will have turn another corner and meet two more turrets hanging out of the walls on both sides and a floating platform that is suspended from the ceiling with the same technology as the gravity-lifts. A Wraith stands infront of you on the floor of the tunnel. Behind it is a dead end but there is also the switch you are looking for.
Objective: Get back to the Hangar Justice 02
When you return to the Hangar Bay after fighting off many Ghosts and Spectres on the way back you enter the hangar but you are immediately attacked by Drones, Brutes and Jackals. Some Brutes automatically beserk and charge towards you at incredible speeds. Once all enemies are dead including two more wall turrets a cutscene begins.
CINEMATIC
(A second Phantom flies past the hangar)
Marine 1: Hey! What are they up to?
Marine 2: Never mind let's go
(Everyone climbs aboard and two Jackals rush through the hangar door trying to prevent you from leaving. The plasma turrets spin round shooting, killing one and scaring the other one away around the corner. The Phantom takes off and drifts out of the hangar and out of sight)
END CINEMATIC
Chapter 3: Flying High
Objective: Get to the Bridge of the Ark
You are sitting in the cockpit of one of the three automated turrets. It has been set to manual and one Marine speaks to you:
Marine: Chief your gonna have to help take down the Stalkers (read introduction to this new Covenant craft at the bottom of the page) and Phantoms.
Several Stalkers will aproach you aswell as some Phantoms. You will have to desroy the cannons first before you can shooting at its weak spot under its nose. At one point a huge glass window in the Ark (which is flying parallel to you at a slower rate) will be next you and on the inside is Spectre piloted by Brutes following you. After a while a cutscene will begin.
CINEMATIC
(A Phantom flies past and destroys the other two turrets killing the Marines inside. A second Phantom flies over it shooting at its weak spot destroying it immediately. The enemy Phantom blasts into a fiery ball of plasma and metal. The second Phantom is the same one that flew past the hangar earlier.
Marine: Chief, we're picking up a message from the Phantom infront. Displaying Holo-com
(Cortana appears on the Communications stand)
Cortana: Well, well, well
SPARTAN 117: (Astonished): Cortana?
Cortana: How close have you got to killing Truth yet?
SPARTAN 117: I was working on it
(The Chief tries to sound professional)
Cortana: Well it dosen't matter, we still have to kill Truth, but we've got some help...
(The Arbiter steps onto the Holo-com. The Chief's eyes widen and his jaw dropps)
