Halo - Star Wars (Chapter 1)
Date: 26 December 2007, 10:43 pm
Note: I had the idea of sticking Star Trek with Halo for a long time, but that idea did not go too well. It is not fun having the Enterprise go around firing phasers and quantum torpedoes. However, I did feel that having massive space battles that included the Imperial Navy and Armies vs the Covenant to be a bit more colourful. So, here is the background on what happens.
The Battle of Yavin turn out to be a Imperial Victory, so just use your imagination on what happens. The second Death Star was completed but the Eclipse is still in the shipyards of Kuat. The story takes place when the Emperor orders a massive fleet wide war games to show the "True power of the Dark Side" to all systems. Vader, Thrawn and Piett are in the 1rst Assualt fleet [a massive space fleet joined with numerous Venator-class star cruisers which act a assualt ships]. As the fleet prepares to jump, things go astray as explained in the first chapter. So enjoy and tell me what you think.
*Note: This story takes place during the Second Battle of Earth but not during Halo 3. This story will take a different branch.
Chapter 1: REEMBODY
"Admiral Thrawn!" grumbled Vader, "What just happened and where are we?"
"Seems like we are in an uncharted system sir, the last reported comm. was by one of the Interdictor reporting a malfunction with its gravity well generators just as we jumped into hyperspace."
Vader stared at the scanner consoles, trying to make out the calculations as the computer reconstructed the last jump. The normal distortions of entering hyperspaces started to go haywire milliseconds after the fleet's drives were engaged. The Executer's navigator plugged in the last bit of data and the console displayed a temporal worm hole extending from Kuat space to this region.
"What! An anomaly based on a harmony of mathematical precision and coincidence? This is one for the archives," thought Vader. "What are we looking at Admiral?" as he stared into a new console showing an unknown planet.
It seems to be a habitable planet sir; seven major landmasses, 70% of the surface is water, 70/25/5 atmosphere, and a developed civilization from our initial scans. I have also sent a picket line to scour the area"
"Excellent Admiral, for I sense a great presence of the force here. What ships made it through?"
"Err, majority of fleet sir including the 100 Star Destroyers, The Executer, The Death Star, and even the troop ships," replied Thrawn.
"LORD VADER! The aliens are trying to contact us, plus our picket line reports a massive battle on the planets dark side," Reported the comm. Operator.
************************************************************
Lord Hood stared at the screen in disbelief as Cortana's replacement AI, Kamov filled him in.
"Definitely isn't Covenant, look at the hulls and plating, very metallic" observed Kamov.
"Then who the hell are they and can they help us?"
"They are responding to my hail, I'll patch it on screen," replied Kamov.
"This is the Executer, command ship of the Imperial 1rst Assault Fleet of the Galactic Empire, I am Lord Darth Vader, and whom am I speaking to?"
"This is Fleet Admiral Terrace Hood of the UNSCDF, I would like to ask you if your intentions are hostile?"
"That seems to be seen admiral, however it looks like you have your hands full right now, do you require assistance in your battle? My picket lines report that your forces are outnumbered considerably, yet they still fight valiantly."
"Why do you wish to help us, not the Covenant?"
"So that's what those apes call themselves! Well I would rather help humans than Wookie, admiral, so prepare for my arrival."
"It would be unwise to come aboard this station Lord Vader, my forces are being overrun, I am preparing to evacuate planet
.."
"You will stay at your current location Admiral!" ordered Vader, "I will bring reinforcements and crush this pathetic race, and then they will learn the true POWER OF THE DARK SIDE OF THE FORCE!"
Hood was taken aback with being given an order by someone completely alien to him, but he couldn't argue back, he was being offered a trump card to be used against the Covenant.
"The dark side of the force? What the hell was that," Hood pondered.
This man had some sort of energy radiating from his appearance, the deep breathing sounds coupled with the deep booming voice and imposing suit he wore was more than Hood could handle.
"Fine, be quick about it; my forces are starting to dwindle," Hood shot back

Chapter 2: Thunder of the Empire
November 4, 2552
Imperial Shuttle
En route to Cairo Station
0700 Hrs
The black void of space was littered full of fragments from an ongoing space battle. Tear drop shaped Seraphs battled Longsword's and a new enemy. The Imperial Tie Defenders brought much chaos into this already confused maelstrom of one-on-one duels. Missiles, plasma and laser fire filled the vacuum as chunks of organic hulls and their metal counterparts floated aimlessly as a convoy approached. An Imperial shuttle, with its tri-wing design, flanked by four Tie Defenders on each side, elegantly floated towards a battered space station, the grayish colour worn with black scorch marks from an ongoing battle, inside and out. The hanger was open and as the shuttle drifted in, the bodies of aliens bumped the spacecraft. The sudden decompression caught these creatures off guard, thus they died a painful death of asphyxiation.
Lord Vader with his complement of 18 commandos filled the cargo hold. These elite soldiers differed from their trooper cousins. Their dress was still of the clone trooper age but with improved armour. Their helmets like their older counterparts still featured the elongated "T" with the bottom half being half an "X." Their white armour encrusted with silver secondary colour along with their black capes. This symbolized them as Vader's own bodyguards.
The shuttle pivoted and touched down with the troopers storming out and flanking their lord. They hopped their way through the zero-G environment to an elevator on their TAC map, courtesy of Lord Hood. As the elevator sprung to life, they concocted a plan. They would go in two groups, the first was to secure the floor and signal the second group to come up with Vader.
The elevator decelerated and came to a halt, opening into a long, dimly-lit hallway. The commandos slowly slithered through the corridor until they reached the door. The point man jumped through the door with the repeating blaster at the ready.
Empty!
Bodies littered the floor as red, purple and other multicolored blood tainted the metal grating. The commander sent an "all clear" communication pulse to the second group; Vader and party could come up.
"Commander, how do we get to the bridge?"
"We, have to go through an airlock, cross through the exterior of the station until we reach another elevator, and that should take us to another corridor. This corridor will take us to a tram, that will arrive when we signal this Lord Hood that we have arrived at this junction."
"Very well, let's make it so commander; we do not have all day."
After floating through space and reaching the heavy lift elevator, the commando party reached the exterior of the tram room. The commander however signaled the party to halt; motion was detected on the scanner. The party scout peered through the doorway, with his silenced blaster at the ready. The creature that inhabited the room was a small stocky alien, no more than 5" 1' and it had a breathing apparatus. Comparing the alien to the picture from Lord Hood's data stream revealed it to be a Grunt. The scout sent a video feed to his commander; a green light was received. He balanced the blaster so it was level and fired a shot.
The only thing the Grunt heard was a "puff" and then its head exploded with purple gore.
The commandos then stormed the courtyard, moving fast and keeping low. The two commandos with repeating blasters covered the air with suppressing fire. Out of this chaos, two massive beasts appeared. One of these creatures lifted its, plowing over a commando who came too close. The force of the blow cleanly cut the commando in half, to the commander's surprise. The video feed flashed, identifying the creatures as Hunters, courtesy of Lord Hood again.
"Party A, SUPRESS! Party B, Flank and Destroy, hit their exposed flesh," the commander ordered.
"Not enough time commander, let me deal with these things"
"Go my lord, hurry."
The sudden appearance of Vader caused the Lekgolo pair to pause momentarily. Vader uses this time to engage his light saber and leapt through the air to the closest hunter. With a swish of the saber, the first hunter went down with a clean diagonal cut through its armour. The second hunter, enraged over its brother's death, lashed out at Vader. Having to evade a blow from its shield, the commandos unleash a hellish barrage of blaster and laser fire on the walking tank. Its shield started to dent and crumble, but the beast held on. The lekgolo then pointed its free arm at the commandos and fired a shot from its attached fuel rod cannon. The ensuing blast sent most of them scurrying for cover, wounding two of the commandos. Vader, already up, pointed his hand at the behemoth and clenched his fist. The armour on the hunter contracted and crushed the colony of worms inside that made the hunter. The beast then fell to its knees and the orange gore of the worms started to ooze out.
"Commander, tell Hood we are awaiting the tram," Vader ordered.
"As you wish my lord."
