Halo: The Return Part 1
Date: 19 August 2002, 3:52 pm
Our story picks up just shortly after the end of the first game. Mater Chief has just gotten off of the ring world known as Halo. He knows that he is the only one that escaped the flood, survived the battle with the Covenant. But he is not the only one who got off Halo alive; 343 Guilty Spark has made it too. Halo: The ReturnCortona: Master Chief, I am still not picking up any life ships other ours.
MC: Keep looking Cortona.
John stands up and walks over to the vending machine. He reaches for a glass of water and a power bar. This was his first mission without his Spartans. He fought the Covenant, and won; he fought the flood and won; and he won against GS. He felt he was due for a break. His armor was back to a dull brown like his first armor was. He had been through a lot and was ready to rest. When he got where he was going he was going to have to share what he learned. He learned a lot from this war, and hoped that this may help the UNSC win the war. He knew that they hadn't won nor did they lose. There were more life's wasted then spent. He knew that without the help he would have died, but that wasn't good enough. To many rookies died helping out UNSC, and yet no one would ever know who they were. Some may say John was a hero, but to him, the people that have their life fighting for freedom were the real hero's. But John couldn't let that get him down; he still had to get home. He knew the Covenant would be looking for survivors and they would find him. He had better get out of there before the Covenant gets there. He knew that if the Covenant found out who he was they would hunt him down. He destroyed a religious land of theirs. But again he knew he had to get to a safe base.
MC: Cortona set a course.
Cortona: Where to Master Chief?
MC: Earth. Were going to earth.
Cortona: Ok, Master Chief. You know the drill into the cryo tube.
MC: I hate this part. Last time I came out I got stuck on Halo.
Cortona: Yea, I know, but I will be watching you Master Chief.
MC: Cortona, do me a favor and call me John.
Cortona: You got it John.
John puts his helmet back on and makes his way to the cryo tube. John doesn't like the feeling of entering the tube-tube. He doesn't want to go through another experience like the war on Halo. The uneasy feeling is soon settled by the by gas of the tube-tube. John takes on last look at what he hopes is a safe trip. But unknowing to John, 343 GS is attempting to locate his ship, so that he may teleport himself to John.
343 GS: Ah... There you are.
The 343 GS is ready to teleport himself to John. He is ready to kill John, but he can't. He knows Cortona will be watching out for John. He must hide, but he has little time to decided where, he must get on the ship before John is to far away. Then with a sudden yellow flash, 343 is on the ship. He has been able to make it undetected. Cortonas security system has one flaw in it. It only detects moving objects, and 343 knew that. So he went to the place where movement was abundant, the engine room. There 343 can sit, a wait. He needs to plan, he needs to figure out what he should do. But seeing how he is a computer, this only takes a few seconds. And he is left to spend the rest of his time training the rats onboard the ship how to calculate the quantum theory. As time goes on 343 soon hears Cortona say, "Welcome back John. Earth is three hours away." This is it, 343 can now make his move. 343 decides to sneak in and take out the Master Chief. He teleports himself into the same room as John, only a few feet away. He swiftly makes his way to MC, floats to level with MC's head. Before 343 can do anything, John spins around with pistol in hand puts it to the bottom of 343's body, and blasts 343 circuit brains out.
John: I really hated him.
With that John stomps on sparking body of 343, and kicks him back into the engine room.
Cortona: Why did you do that? He had a wealth of info in him.
John: Fine, I'll go find his memory chips.
John goes into the engine room, and picks up 343 sparking body and rips out the memory, and pushes it into his helmet drive.
John: There, I hope you're happy.
Cortona: ETA 5 minutes, and yes I am happy. Please buckle up, and get ready for decent.
MC: Yea, yea; I'm going. Cortona, patch me into the earth UNSC.
Cortona: It seems they are trying to contact us.
MC: What? They must have picked us up on radar. Patch em' through.
Voice: Unknown vessel, please identify yourself.
MC: Master Chief, here. Let me speak to your commanding officer.
Officer: Master Chief? This is commanding officer of the Earth UNSC. Go ahead.
MC: I am the only known person to survive the mission to the ring world known as Halo. We seem to have run into more trouble than we thought was there.
Officer: Well you're about to land, so we will talk when you get in. UNSC out.
Cortona: John, I am picking up Covenant forces on the radar. We better warn the UNSC.
John: If we can see them, so can they. But patch me through anyway.
Cortona: You got it.
John: Hello? UNSC? We got a problem. I am being followed by Covenant forces. I repeat, Covenant forces are coming.
Voice: I copy you Master Chief. We are scrambling marines right now.
Johns ship has landed; as he looks around he can see heavy woods to his right and a large brick building to his left. In the distant he can see marines running out of a bunker, and right into another. He grabs his helmet out of the ship, and head towards the bunker where he sees the marines running into and out of.
MC: Cortona, get me a blue print of the base, and get their radio signal up. I want to hear what their saying.
Cortona: You got it John, just give me some time.
Upon entering the base, John asks for the commanding officer. But is only meet with surprise by all the marines, they all have never meet a Spartan solider. He can't get more than a few words out of the marines. John ignores their comments and looks for an officer. He can see one man giving orders, and heads towards him.
MC: Sir! Spartan 117 reporting.
Officer: Glad to see you're here, grab a gun, and get ready. ETA of Covenant forces one hour.
MC: I need all the information you have of the incoming forces.
Officer: I don't know that information, only HQ does.
MC: Fine give me a gun, and I'm gone.
The officer throws John an AR and John turns and heads straight for the door. He suspects that the large brick building is HQ.
John: Cortona, where's that info I asked for?
Cortona: I can't find any prints, and the radio waves are pretty much silent.
John: Ok, fine; Keep me updated.
John enters the building and is meet by heavily armed guards.
Guard: Where do you think your going?
John ignores the two guards and pushes past them. The two guards yell for him to freeze, but John continues to ignore them. Just before John enters the control room lobby, he hears the two guards yell, "fire!" Bullets bounce off on John's armor, and don't phase him. John burts into the main control room and is meet by guns aiming at him.
Guard: Who are you? How did you get into here?
John forces down one of the guns and looks at the guard.
John: I am Master Chief of the Spartan 2 soldiers. Now let me speak to your commanding officer.
Officer: Let him through.
The two guards drop their guns and get back to their position.
Officer: What is it 117?
MC: What?
Officer: Don't be amazed that we have your history.
MC: Ok, whatever; Just give me all the info you have on the Covenant forces.
Cortona: John, I think you need to hear this.
A radio transmission is coming through, but just barley.
Marine: I rea...Covena...edy her.
Cortona: John, he is saying that the Covenant are already here. We have to go.
MC: Ok, give me a source to that transmission.
John begins to rush out the door. But before he can the officer asks him where he is going. John replies that the Covenant are already here and that they had better prepare.
Halo: The Return Part 2
Date: 19 August 2002, 3:52 pm
John goes running down the hall, as he gets outside he hears a siren. All of a sudden marines spill out of a bunker with guns in hand. John can hear UNSC drop-ships starting up, and marines boarding them.
Cortona: John we don't have time to wait for those drop-ships. There is a Warthog over in that bunker. Grab two marines, and let's go.
John: You got it.
John heads towards one on the drop-ships and tell the last two guys to get off. On the way to the Warthog, John tells one of the marines to grab a sniper. The three hop into the Warthog and take-off. Gravel shooting out from under the tires, dust kicking up into the air. Master Chief shows no regard for the Warthog, as he hits the hills by the wooded area.
Marine: Where did you say you learned to drive?
MC: I never said I did, but I do know how. Besides these things are made to take damage. Not even those rockets launcher can put a dent in these. So just hold on.
Master Chief goes flying over a hill and out to a open plain.
Cortona: John I got where that signal is coming from. Take clearing for a mile and you will be there.
MC: Thanks, I am gonna plug you into the Warthog. I want you to scan as much as you can, I want to know where everyone is.
Cortona: John... There is also something that is puzzling me. Listen to this.
Over the radio John hears a voice say, "Blue team, evade sight, and circle around." Master Chief looks to the marine next to him.
MC: How are the team's organized?
Marine: Well there Alpha, Omega, and Spartan.
MC: What? Spartan?
Marine: Yeah, I think their called Spartan three.
Cortona: Sorry to interrupt the chit-chat but the Covenant should be in your site John.
MC: OK, I see em. Get your sniper ready. You better be a good shot.
In the distance John sees a Covenant drop-ship dropping off elites, and hunters. Along with a few Banshee's. Cortona tells John that they have been spotted by the Covenant. The marine at the turret open fire onto the Banshees hoping to take em out. He can only get one of them, before the other two take off. John slams on the breaks and tells the marines to hop out, and stick close to him. John runs into the woods, finding a place to hide. This is not what John likes to do, but when your outnumbered by so much he knows to hide. They can here the Banshee's flying around over head trying to find the three. The sound of branches breaking under the heavy foot of the hunters can be heard close by. John looks at the two marines and tells them that they need to aim for the orange part of the Hunters. The two marines look at John as if he told them the meaning of life. They can't believe that someone can take the out with one shot. Neither of them believes what he is saying so Master Chief grabs the sniper, aims for the closest one and takes it out. This alerts the other Hunters and they begin to charge where the shot came from.
MC: Shit!
Marine: Didn't work?
MC: No, it did, but the rest of the Hinters are now heading right to us. Be brave and go out fighting, ok? The two marines look at John and pick up their guns. John gives the signal and the three of them stand up and open fire. But to their amazement The hunters are all dead. John has no idea what happens until he looks over by the Warthog and sees three soldiers standing there, they resemble John's armor but looks different. There by the Warthog stands a six foot, man. His armor is like Johns, but it seems to have an invisible look to it. It reminds John of the elites stealth armor. As the soldier turns off its cloak John gets a full view of the soldier. The armor is more rounded, its armor also looks less bulky. There also seems to be modified guns on it. The AR has a grenade launcher on it, and there is a weapon John sees that he has rarely seen, the Spartan has a sword. A modified version of the ones the elites has.
MC: Is that them? The Spartan threes?
Marine: Yep, that's the latest project.
But as long as John would like to walk over there and talk he hears the Banshee's flying overhead. But before John can react to the sounds the Spartan hops into the Warthog, and opens fire on the two Banshee's. Bringing them down almost instantly. John, and the marines run over to the Spartan, and begin to fire on the approaching Covenant.
MC: So, you're the Spartan three. 117 here. Pleases to meet you.
Spartan: 117? You must be John, one of the only to survive the big war on Reach.
MC: You know more than I wished about my past.
With that John takes out the last grunt. John hops into the driver seat of the Warthog and takes off, telling the marines to head back to base. John and the new Spartan take off going down the road.
Spartan: Where are we going?
MC: If there one thing I've learned it is to make sure their dead. These guys like to pop-up out of nowhere, so be ready.
As John drives into the clearing, he can see a collection of Spartan soldiers standing there, checking to make sure their enemies are dead. The Spartan hops off the Warthog and walks over to the other group. John can hear them talking.
Spartan group: Whose that? 117. Master Chief? Yea that's 117. Should we take him back to base? Of course.
One of the soldiers that John guess is the leader walks over to John and tells him to follow him. John has no reason not to. So he leaves the Warthog and follows them. The walk to the Spartan HQ is quite, no one is talking. John begins to wonder where they are going. They soon reach a large round lump in the ground. John thinks to himself that this can't be the base it looks to small, until the leader opens a door and walks down. It looks almost like a basement. There is a spiral staircase, that leads to a large room. A room that looks like a training gym, the lights overhead gives off a glow. John can see a firing range in the distant, an obstacle course that would rival any, and a weight room. John begins to hear a man yell at the Spartans.
Man: Welcome back! You guys did great! I don't know how you do it! Wow! Five Hunters in one clip! Whose the new guy? He looks like a Spartan 2.
Spartan: Yeah, its 117 the Master Chief, he is back from the Halo project.
Man: Well, a Spartan 2? How are you doing, John?
MC: Well seeing how I just got back from a war, I am pretty tired. But other than that I am ok. Cortona keeps me company.
Man: Ah, Cortona, how have you been?
Cortona: Mike Sevial, how have you been?
Mike: I see you remember me. Would you like to join our main computer?
Cortona: That's up to John.
John: Cortona stays with me. You can hook her up, but she stays with me.
Spartan: Well John, what do you say? How about an upgrade in the suit department?
John: It's worth a try.
John follows Mike into a room where he sees a outline of the green armor. John asks where the rest of the armor is. Mike says that it is all there. John takes off his helmet and gets help with the rest of his armor. For the first time in a very long time John has no armor on. He stands about six foot, he is very muscular, and has a few scars on him. His face has a long scar down his right eye, a shaved head. His face is thin, but has power to it. He has a strong chin and a cold look. John walks over to his new armor and picks up one of the boots. To his surprise the boot is amazingly light. He slips the boot on, and locks it into place. The boot only goes up to his mid-shin. He then slips on another boot, and his feet feel lighter. He already likes the new armor; he reaches for the greeves, and snaps them onto his thighs, and knees. He picks up his new chest guard. Already the suit only feels as heavy as his two boots. He puts on the rest of the armor and is quite happy with the new suit. John asks for his old helmet, he pulls out the drive containing Cortona. John take his new helmet and plugs Cortona in. He places his new helmet on. He can hear Cortona's voice and knows that everything is working. But one thing is weird to John. He only has the green part of the armor. H e asks Mike what is wrong, Mike just tells him to push the button on his right side of his waist. His body is surrounded by the black flexible material and is to his surprise it to is armor. John is told to take his new armor for a spin. But before he can the warning signal goes off again. Cortona alerts John that there are more Covenant coming in. Master Chief grabs a new AR and heads out.
John: You guys have any Warthogs?
Spartan Leader: Yes, but we better take the Tank. I'll drive, you gotta get used to your new armor. The five of them get on the tank and head into battle. John is expecting good things. He tells Cortona to get him a layout of the land and to get the radar up and running. Before long the tank in under fire by a covenant drop-ship, John hops off of the Tank and goes to flank the Covenant. John can instantly tell he is quicker, lighter, stronger. He blazes through the woods with speed only matched by Kelly. John soon reaches the Covenant, but before he goes running into battle Cortona tells him she wants to something. Cortona activates Johns cloaking, John slowly sneaks up on the Covenant as they begin to set up their base. John can hear the Tank in the distance. John picks up his AR, and fires a single grenade. The Covenant don't even notice the grenade, that is until it explodes. Three Elites run into the woods, hoping to find the Master Chief. But before any of them come with in ten feet of John he opens fire on them, taking them all out. But the attention is quickly taken away from him as the Tank fires a round into the center of the camp. John sees that no one is one the tank.
MC: Cortona, where are the rest of them?
Cortona: I'll activate the heat vision.
As the heat vision comes on, John can see that the other three are flanking the Covenant base. John rushes into the base and begins taking out Covenant left and right. Before long, the rest of the Spartans enter the base, and soon they all take out the Covenant.
MC: Good Job rookies.
Spartan: Yeah, whatever; you didn't do to bad yourself.
MC: Well I did all this by myself, what feels like yesterday.
Spartan Leader: Well it seems your use to the new suit.
MC: Feels just like home.
Spartan Leader: You came just in time, we are going on a mission to the Covenant HQ. We will need your help.
MC: Well then I'm coming with you.
Halo: The Return Part 3
Date: 19 August 2002, 3:52 pm
Spartan Leader: Well then, I guess you have to go through some training. But seeing how you are a quick learn, it shouldn't be a problem.
The Leader takes John to a fenced up base, in which upon entering John sees a Warthog, and a Scorpion Tank. But he also sees some new things that he hasn't seen before. First an almost Banshee like thing but it is wider, thinner and sleeker. The classic green, and brown color is all over the ship. It has two machine guns, and in the front a single missile launcher. There is a plastic cover that slides over the driver and the firer.
Spartan Leader: That is our version of the Banshee, its called Ace Wing. It is faster, and more powerful than the Banshee; but it is a little sluggish. But it can take out Banshee's without a problem. Lets move on, we found the Warthog's were a little to big, so there we have a dune buggy, also known as Sand Duster.
The Leader points over to a small car, with a mini-Vulcan cannon on the back. The gun is activated by a trigger on the right handle and the left handle has a trigger for dropping land mines. It's quick, and can fit into many small places. It also cannot be flipped due to its roll cage.
Spartan Leader: Moving onto some new weapons. This is the only new weapon you haven't used. It is a modified version of the elites sword. It is a plasma sword nonetheless but can do something's that the Covenants swords can't. For instance, ours can spin, you grasp these two paddles tightly, and then the sword be comes loose and can swing in a circle. Good for cutting off the heads of those damn Grunts, and Elites. But in the case you face down a Hunter with one of these you can launch it with a small air powered cannon in it. It will fire the plasma sword itself a good hundred feet. It can also be placed back into position, and then after five seconds it will reactivate. Now onto the last new thing, it is called a porcupine grenade. Its not the explosion that makes these baby's deadly, it's the steel balls that shoot from it.
The Spartan throws a PP grenade into the middle of a box.
Spartan Leader: This box is made out of the same stuff that the Covenant's ships are. Just watch what is does. Oh, and by the way it is 10x's thicker.
The Leader throws the box high into the air, as the box goes out of site they hear a loud explosion, and as the box lands, John sees that there is nothing left. All that falls down is a few steel balls, and some shrapnel. The Spartan Leader goes onto tell John that the PP grenades have taken out whole ships before, and will be their main weapon against the drop-ships. John is amazed by all this, and is ready to go. But before he can try anything out he is told it is time to go. The leader tells John that he can download all the info in his way over there. The suit is connected to John's brain and is capable of having information sent into it. The two head back to the base and get ready to board the ship in an hour. As the time pass John is told that it is time to prepare for the cryo-tubes. John says he will enter his tube last. The leader asks why, and John replies that he wants to make sure everything is okay before he enters.
MC: I will check the radar, and then retire to the tubes. Then I will let Cortona keep us on watch to make sure no one tries to attack us.
Spartan Leader: John, I guess I didn't tell you about the new suit mods. There are some new things.
MC: Cortona, scan the area, 5 times. I don't want anything sneaking up. If anything comes up take them out with whatever is needed.
Cortona: You got it John.
MC: So, what's the new stuff?
Spartan Leader: First off call me Enco. Second the first mod is probly the best. You see this little cord?
Enco pull a long cord out of his palm, it is black and seems to retract.
Enco: This plugs into you AR. It makes it so you can zoom, or look around corners. We can take out Covenant with out them seeing us. Try it out.
John sees the little hose like thing, and pulls it out. He asks for an AR to try it out. Enco throws him one but John doesn't know how to plug it in. Enco tells John to look under the cross hairs, John does and he sees a little plug. As he plugs it in a short little flash happens and John notices his view is lower.
MC: Only one problem, I can't watch my sides.
Enco: That's what Cortona, and your radar is for.
John is indeed impressed with this new gadget. John asks what else is new.
Enco: Well you strength can be powered up. But that lowers you shield power, your shield can be boosted too. It makes for good sliding, and for great stealth. It's a hell lot of fun when you get bored.
MC: I'm not out there to have fun.
Enco: Yea, I forgot. You are the serious type.
MC: It's a war, and we have to stay alert. The second you lose that readiness you die.
Enco: Don't worry; on the battlefield we are better than anyone.
MC: Sure you are rookie.
Voice: Love-boat come in Love-boat.
Enco: Love-boat here. What is it HQ?
MC: Love-boat?
Enco: Inside joke.
Voice: We are going to need you to turn around. We are detecting a large Covenant movement. We need you to abort your mission and get you ass back here before they get here.
The Spartans had only been gone for a half-hour, and one thing puzzled John. Why hadn't Cortona seen the ships? Could thy have entered after she was done? Still why didn't they pick up on the normal radar.
MC: UNSC, come in.
Voice: UNSC, what is it 117?
MC: Where are those Covenant forces coming in?
Voice: Alpha-Omega, section 4.
That was just past the sun, could it be that the Covenant were trying to mask their entrance? John flashed back to the war on Reach. He realized that the Covenant do these two things in war, distract, and attack. John knew something was wrong, but couldn't tell what it was.
MC: Cortona, you heard the man, turn this ship around.
Cortona: You got it Chief.
As the ship turned, it hits John. The sudden appearance of the Covenant on the side of the sun was their distraction. But what was the attack going to be? UNSC was now watching the skies. Again, it hits John. When the Covenant invaded, why was it so small? No, the Covenant wouldn't invade small. They were landing, and then waiting, the invasion had already started before UNSC even knew it.
MC: Cortona engines at max. Get us back to earth. We have got some trouble.
Cortona: What is it John?
MC: The Covenant has already landed. Inform the UNSC. Message read "Red Alert. Covenant on earth. Scan last invasion area. I repeat Covenant on earth."
Cortona: Sent. Engines at 300%, ETA 5 minutes.
MC: Enco, get your people ready; we have to be ready fir anything. Cortona, get me a sat. photo's until landing. Same area as we landed. Check for any Covenant activity.
Cortona: On it Chief.
Enco: All Spartans report to weapons deck, suit up, and get ready the exo's. We may need them.
MC: Exoskeletons?
Enco: Just another mod. We use them for heavy combat. I recommend you grab one too.
MC: I like to stay open in my movements. I recommend you try and stay the same way. The Covenant has more ability than you think. I have seen them use gorilla tactics on us. Be ready for anything.
Cortona: Chief, Covenant activity found; Its not good.
MC: Show me.
On Johns HUD pops up a map; Cortona explains where the Covenant bases are. Ten red dots appear on the screen, all at the northwest of the main UNSC building. She than shows where the Covenant movement is; thousand of blue dots appear on the mad. Three around the bases, and two opposite of the NW bases; the Covenant is pre-paring a flank. John never shows his fear, but this is the first time for everything. John drops his AR, and stands in one space not moving.
MC: We've lost... I swore it to myself I wouldn't let it happen.
Enco: Master Chief get ready, we are landing in less than a minute.
Cortona: John! Snap out of it! It's not over. You can do this. It is far from over.
Halo: The Return Part 4
Date: 19 August 2002, 3:52 pm
Cortona: Enco! Get the Chief buckled in, tell your crew to get ready its gonna be a bumpy landing. Enemy fire is coming our way.
Enco: You got it.
Enco throws the stunned Master Chief into a chair and yells over the intercom, "ALL TROOPS PREPARE FOR INCOMING ENEMY FIRE! BLUE TEAM, READY STEALH, RED TEAM READY THE HEAVY FIRE! IF THEY HIT US, RED TEAM OPEN FIRE!" Just a Enco finishes his orders their ship is hit with the first round of Banshee's.
Enco: Cortona, give me full coverage. You have my permission to take out any enemy you see.
Two more green bombs hit the side of the shit, burning into the side. But the Banshee's go short lived, a mini Mac cannon fires and takes out both of the Banshee's.
Enco: ARC-ONE AND TWO, TAKE OFF! TAKE OUT THOSE BANSHEE'S PRONTO.
The sound of a roar blares in the distance as the two Ace Wings take off. The fly by Enco as they head for the remaining six Banshee's. The first Ace circles right and heads under Enco. The other takes off taking out one Banshee with a PP rocket, and damaging another. He open fire on the other and soon take it out. He now has the attention of four Banshee's. All of which circle around to him. One takes the lead and drops in front of the first Ace. The other three group together and stay behind him. The Arc's set the Banshee's up; just as the three are about to fire the middle one is hit with a PP rocket. The two on the sides fall smoking to the ground. The one in front is unaware that he is the only one left. The Arc that took out the three Banshees flies next to him, and so does the other Arc. The Elite now knows he has no chance, but in the classic style of the Elites, refuses to die. He tries to shake the two Ace Wings by slamming on the brakes. But is soon met by the front of the Spartans Pelican. In a large flash of smoke and flames the Banshee's are gone.
Enco: Great job Arc-one and two. Land yourselves close to base, we are gonna get in there a pre-pare for the fight of our lives
Arc-One: Wooo! God Damn! That was great! Just like a fly! BOOM! You got it boss. Damn! This is what I live for.
Enco: Well if you want to keep living you will land now.
Arc-Two: You got it.
The two Arcs make their way to a small clearing and prepare for the Pelican to land.
Cortona: One problem Enco, landing gear is jammed.
Enco: Land it the best you can Cortona.
Cortona: I will, just make sure you get John back into the real world.
Enco: I think the landing will wake him up enough.
Enco sees the ground coming up very fast, he hopes that it aint a complete crash. He hopes it is a crash landing, not just a crash. He open the intercom again, "BRACE FOR IMPACT!" But before any of the Spartans can lock themselves in they hit the ground. The sound of Spartans bouncing in the back is abundant. But lucky for the Spartan they all turned up their Shields up all the way. None of them are harmed but their shields have dropped and they need to stay in cover before they go out and fight again.
Enco: ALL TROOPS FALL OUT! GET INTO THE BUNKER NOW! GRAB WHAT YOU CAN AND GET OUT OF HERE!
One after the other each Spartan jumps out and file into the bunker. They hear the distant breaking of trees, Hunters. Enco grabs John and throws him over his shoulder. John had passed out and was still out. He was still breezing, that was a good thing. He was out, that was bad. Enco had to get John awake, he would need him; just as Enco hops into the bunker he hears, and feels the blast. He get launched down the stairs, his armor saved him from a lot of injuries. Other than bumps he was fine. Enco places the Master Chief on the ground and breaks open a pack of snuffers. John snaps back to attention, and jumps up to his feet. John has no clue what happened or where he is. The only thing that gave him a clue was Cortona's voice.
Cortona: John, you okay?
MC: What the hell happened?
Cortona: In a nut shell?
MC: No, details.
Cortona: You saw the Covenant army on earth. You freaked, its Halo all over again.
MC: DAMN IT!!
John is extremely pissed, he swings his fists, and dents one of the beams holding up the bunker.
Enco: Control him!
All of the Spartans tackle John and try to calm him down. John is freaking out, he doesn't want to see Halo again. Arms flying everywhere, one of the Spartans grabs a stun bomb, and hits John with it. The shock send two Spartans flying and knocks out John.
Cortona: Put his helmet on. I am gonna try and calm him down.
Enco grabs Johns helmet and snaps it onto John. They see John jump and twitch, as Cortona try to calm him down. Soon after a long two minutes they hear Cortona tell Enco to wake him up. Enco does so and as John begins to come-to they hear.
MC: What happened? Where am I?
Enco: Calm down, you are ok. We are back on Earth. The Covenant are right outside. You must keep it together.
MC: Got it, I will keep it together. I just need a few things.
Enco: Name it.
MC: Cortona, give me a constant update of the outside. I want to know what is going on, and when it happens.
Cortona: You got it Chief, and welcome back.
MC: Enco get you men ready, suit up with ammo, and grenades. We are gonna need all of them.
Enco: You heard them man! Suit up! Arc's get your AW's ready the instant we get out of here. I want all of you n the air.
MC: Be ready in five. We are busting out, and getting anyone else out.
Cortona: Chief, I got an update for you. The Covenant are sending three units of Elites, two of Jackals, five of Grunts, and two of Hunters. They are going to trap us.
MC: Enco give me three PP grenades, and two screen grenades. I got a plan for them. Also I need a scope.
Enco: On it.
Enco throws John the five grenades, and the scope. As soon as John has them he takes off up the stairs.
MC: Get ready as soon a tell you to I want you all to go top side, open fire on anything the aint UNSC.
Spartan Group: Sir! Yes Sir!
MC: I also need you to split in your two groups, red team, and blue group. Enco you are leader of Blue team. I will Red's leader.
Enco: Sir!
The group of Spartans split and they stand ready. John runs up the stairs and slowly opens the hatch. He can see all of the enemy's watching to see what will appear out of the ground. He pulls out the first screen grenade and throws it. A thick black smoke begins to cover the area. As soon as John cannot see the ground in front of him he throws out a PP. He slams closed the lid and waits to hear screams of Covenant death. An explosion, and then screams John knows it is now time to attack.
MC: Now!
All of the Spartans come pouring out of the bunker, blue team going right, red left. They all have their thermal vision on. Taking out Covenant left and right. Blood flying everywhere, the smoke settles and we see over twenty Covenant dead. All laying there, and not moving.
Cortona: John, get moving! They are sending back-up.
MC: Arc's get into the air now!
With that the two Arc's take off flying.
Arc-One: This is Arc-One come in Arc-Two.
Arc-Two: Arc-Two here Arc-One, lets take out some baddies.
The two AW's fly just overhead as the red team backs up the blue. Master Chief tells Enco to take the lead, but to watch out for Covenant forces. If he gets into trouble to signal over the COM channel, Enco's light flashes, tell John he knows.
MC: Everyone be ready. This isn't going to be easy.
Halo: The Return Part 5
Date: 19 August 2002, 3:52 pm
Before going much father, John checks his weapons. A pistol, and two extra clips; an AR and ten extra clips; a Spartan Plasma sword; and enough grenades to take out anything. John is ready for anything, and he knows that this is going to take every last bit of training, and experience he has had. Taking out two thousand plus Covenant, while saving whatever human forces he can isn't what he would hope for. But nonetheless these war games are what he lives for. John remembers what Reach was like; he lost all of his Spartans that day. He also lost his home, and that is what the Covenant would pay for. Every life lost at Reach, and every Spartan lost would be what drove him. He then made a promise to himself; Earth was what he had to save. And with all of his power would not let the anyone die as long as he could help.
Cortona: John, tell those Arc's to back away. They are going to give away our position.
MC: Arc-One, and Two come-in
Arc-One: Loud and clear Master Chief.
MC: You see any Banshee's?
Arc-Two: Negative.
MC: Land your birds and join us. On the double soldier!
Arc-One and Two: Sir! Yes Sir!
The two flyers land on the ground, but not before being seen by two Scouts (Scouts are little creatures, not standing any taller than one foot five. They weigh just a little more than 25 pounds, but are quick as lightning. They can climb us a redwood tree in less that ten seconds, and have eyes that rival a hawk, but their sight does not limit to day, their sight at night is that like a bat, they send out a signal and see in almost thermal vision. The look like a little a cross between a triceratops and a cheetah. They walk upright and have an almost snake like skin. They climb almost a swim, and they can run at max speed of almost sixty miles a hour.). The Scouts instantly send a message back to the closest Covenant base called Ahd'u-din run. There was the outer perimeter of the Covenant force on Earth. The Covenant had been watching Earth for a long time. They knew that the Spartans were there, and they were ready.
MC: Blue team head southwest, circle left. Red team we are going southeast and circling right. We are going to take out and flank whatever enemies you see.
Enco: And keep on those stealth packs as much as you can. But remember they drain shields. Pay attention out there!
MC: All right, troops move out!
The Master Chief took his Red team into the thick brush, slowly creeping their way through it. He knew that there was Covenant activity in the area, and didn't know where they went. He had to keep his eyes open and his thermal vision on.
MC: Cortona, watch the radar, I don't want anything sneaking up on us.
Cortona: You got it John.
As they slowly walk in the woods John hears a sound, he signals for the Red team to stop, and with a few flicks tell them to pull up in a row a get low. John opens the COM channel and tells his troops to stay quite.
Enco: John we got some trouble, their attacking us.
MC: So? Fire back.
Enco: I would if I could se...
MC: Enco! Enco come in! Red team, stay alert, and stay down. Cortona, give me a map and all the action around Enco.
Cortona: You got it Chief.
John begins to run where Enco's signal was. He soon comes up and sees a battle raging. In the far left he sees the Spartans take care of the Covenant, but when he sees Enco he sees he is in trouble. Enco is in a hand-to-hand combat with an Elite. The Elite has Enco pinned down and is coming close to killing him. There is something new to this Elite; he is in all black; just like the grunts. John know that there is another thing different. The Elite is bigger, stronger; this is not a normal Elite. John know does not have much time.
MC: Cortona, when I tell you too crank up my shield on my boots.
Cortona: You got is John.
John puts down his AR and sprints towards Enco, and the Elite.
MC: NOW!
Cortona puts his boots on full and John goes siding down the forest, picking speed. John pulls out his sword, and readies it. As he gets close enough he fires the sword and hits the Elite in the head. It is instantly drops to the ground, John grabs the sword and snaps it back in. the blood from the Elite still dripping on the sword. As the sword re-charges the blood disintegrates. John turns off power to the boots and stops, he turns and sees a Hunter about to charge one of the other Spartans.
MC: Cortona, give me a boost and I'll tell you when to re-power up my boots.
John again sprints this time towards the Hunter.
MC: Now.
John goes sliding along the forest floor. As he gets closer to the Hunter, he raises his sword, and strikes. The sword burns through the Hunters orange flesh. Vessels and organs singe as the sword passes through them. A short burst of pain comes from the Hunter as it is cut in two. The large body hits the ground and its orange blood pours from the body. The rest of the Spartans take out the left over Grunts and Jackals.
MC: Enco, I told you to stay alert! Now they know where we are!
There is a short pause as John stares at Enco.
MC: Red Team, get over here. We aren't splitting up.
Red Team: Yes Sir!
John turns towards Enco, walks over to him and throws him onto the ground.
MC: If you ever in-danger this team again I will kill you.
Enco stares back at John and shakes his head in acknowledgment. John picks him up, and tell him to get ready, they are gonna have to do survey to see where the Covenant were. John sends two Spartans ahead to view the area, and tells them to step lightly. The two Spartans take off making their way to the unknown. John over the COM link tells them to report in every five minutes. John turns his attention towards Enco.
Enco: Look, they just dropped in on us. I had no idea they were there.
MC: Dropped in? What do you think your radar is for?
Enco: I know, I'm sorry.
MC: Don't be, you screwed up and you have yourself to blame.
Voice over COM: Sir! Covenant base located, sending you the coordinates.
On Johns HUD pops up a little mad and a green dot where the Covenant base is.
Cortona: I don't know why, but that base didn't show up on my map.
MC: It's the trees, they are blocking some of the bases. All right, you two return. We are going to make an attack plan.
Enco: Before you go how many soldiers do you see?
Voice: About fifty, no make that sixty. Were coming back before we are spotted.
Enco: All right.
MC: You know, there is something I can't quite figure out. How the hell did the Covenant find Earth?
Enco: Later Master Chief. We have got to come up with a plan.
John knows Enco is covering something up. But he cant tell what. Something must have happened while John was gone. Something bad, someone must have messed up. But who? And more importantly how? There was no time to sit there and think. The Covenant needed to be taken care of. He would have to figure this out later.
MC: New plan. Once they get back we are heading to UNSC HQ.
Enco: Why?
MC: We have a better chance there.
Cortona: John, I have some bad news.
MC: What now Cortona?
Cortona: The Covenant are about to takeover HQ.
MC: DAMN IT! Ok, give me a vid feed around and inside the HQ. We are taking it back.
As the two troops make their way back to the group John informs all of them on his plan. All the troops are unsure of his orders but follow him towards the HQ. John is on extra alert, he knows that the Covenant can be anywhere and he wants to ready for them. The base can be seen in the distant but so can Hunters and strange brick red creature. He doesn't have time to study the creature, they could be found at any moment. But he also knew that fighting something unknown was very dangerous. So, he decided to watch the creature for a moment. The creature walked on all fours, was about six foot in length and three feet high. It had the face of a Jackal, but the body of a horse. The creatures skin looked rough, and hard. It seemed to have a mane around its neck of feathers. Each feather overlaps and smoothly lay. The claws on the creature looked dangerous and powerful. John had no idea what it was but wasn't about to let that stop him. He told one of the Spartans to snipe out the Hunter, and the dog like creature. But as soon as the Hunter fell the creature sprang alert. Staring almost directly at the Spartans. John slowly raised his AR and aimed for the creature. It took off, zigzagging towards them. John could barley keep up with the creature. He just saw the creature at points; he knew that he needed to kill it before it got to close. He concentrates, watching, and before long he fires. The creature falls, john shot right through the animal's leg. John knew it wasn't dead; he raised his gun again and shot it in the head. The purple blood splatters over the ground floor, it takes a full round to kill the beast but John doesn't care. As the beast slowly dies, John sees its chest rising more, and more.
MC: Run!
But before he can move the beast explodes, blood and guts staining all of the Spartans armor.
MC: Damn! The stealth won't have any effect now. Turn them off boys. Cortona give me a view of everything breathing in there. I want to know what I need to kill.
Cortona: Already on it; I got you the security camera. They should provide a good view.
MC: Good, ok marines we are going in the east wing. Who know the building best?
Spartan: I do Sir!
MC: What is you name?
Spartan: Rat. They call me Rat. I am the navigator.
MC: Good. Show me the best plan.
John shows Rat the camera and the blueprints.
Rat: Ok, it seems that the Covenant have a strong force here.
Rat points to the main entrance of the east wing.
Rat: So I suggest we go in over the top of the building. Drop in right in the middle of corridor five and take them out. We would be fighting on higher ground, that's a good thing. But there is a bad thing.
MC: And that bad thing is?
Rat: The instant we open fire on them the Covenant in corridor six through ten would hear us. They would join the fight, and we would be flanked. If we do it that way we also have about five of those exploding things on our asses.
MC: Just call them dogs for now.
Rat: Ok, now I propose we go through the roof, and bomb the entire east wing. I say about five PP grenades would be good enough.
MC: Fine, lets make it happen. Troops MOVE OUT!
Halo: The Return Part 6
Date: 19 August 2002, 3:52 pm
The Spartans make their way to the building, all staying low to the ground. Each Spartan has their gun raised watching for any movement, any sign that the Covenant are following them. As they approach they building the first problem, how to get on top of the building without making a sound. It hits John a pyramid. The troops begin to stack themselves slowly making their way up. Once high enough John hops up and to the top. He instantly raises his shield all over, except for his had. He also drops to his stomach so that way he can crawl along the top. As each Spartan makes their way up, he instructs them to do the same. As the last Spartan makes his way up, they head for a ventilation shaft. As they come over the fifth corridor John grabs six PP grenades and throws them all over the area. John slides out of the shaft and hides away from the damage zone. On the inside a hunter is starring at the PP grenade. While another lifts it up to study it. BOOM! The grenades go off and spikes are driven through the skull of Hunter, and its head is ripped off of its head and driven into the roof. A grunt is pinned to a wall; the spikes go right through a Jackals shield tearing it apart. Anything that was breathing in corridors five through ten is now dead.
MC: Lets move in troops.
John stomps a hole in the weakened roof, his boot goes through it as if it were mud. Soon he busts through the roof and drops in. He falls twenty feet onto a Hunter. Luckily for John the Hunter is already dead. As soon as he gives the OK the rest of the troops troop in after him. Dust kicks up as lights flicker and dim light shines in. The troops freeze to wait and see if there is anything on the way. Tensions run high as they wait for any movement. Time seems to slow as John scans the area. No Spartan move until John takes a step forward, even then they all point their AR towards him. All the troops are on their last nerves, they know that the place is loaded with Covenant; they just don't know where they are.
MC: Rat which way to the control room?
Rat: Down corridor seven and second door on the left.
MC: Got it, follow me.
John stalks down the hall watching for any movement. As he comes up to the door he hear Covenant talking on the inside. He motions for his troops to fall in next to him as he readies his gun. He gives a count down from three and then busts down the door. All he sees is a pair of hurt Elites trying to call for backup. John shots them both, but it is to late. Backup is coming already. John knows he has to get whatever security up as soon as he can.
MC: Enco, who is your comp tech.?
Spartan: I am sir! CJ Kole reporting!
MC: Can you get every thing up? I need all the firepower I can get.
CJ: On it.
MC: OK, while he is doing the Rat take a man and go with Enco. Enco take two men to check the area for any Covenant, do not leave the east wing. Report anything that happens. Rat, get us any thing you think we may need.
Enco and Rat: Sir!
MC: The last of us will stay here and watch CJ's back. I want you all to report in one hour.
All of the troops shake their head yes. John knows that this is very dangerous splitting up, but it is for the best. He just hopes CJ can get everything working. He really needs all the help he can get.
Rat: Covenant spotted, they seem hurt. Should I engage?
MC: Only if necessary. How many are there?
Rat: About ten.
MC: Can you tell how they were hurt?
Rat: Looks like they were hit with the PP's.
MC: Ok, have fun.
Rat: You heard the man! Lets have some fun.
The sound of bullets fills the COM channel as the sound of death from the Covenant echoes throughout the COM channel.
CJ: Got it!
MC: What?
CJ: Power is coming on; I just need some more time so I can set the security level to Omega-four.
MC: Well you have ten minutes, so you better hurry.
CJ: I just gotta crack the D-base.
John and the other Marines sit down and wait for CJ to finish and for the others to get back.
MC: Cortona, update me.
Cortona: The Covenant doesn't know where here, they are setting up for something. I can't tell what yet. I am looking through past Covenant known strategies for anything and I can find anything.
MC: What about the memory chips from 343?
Cortona: I'm working on it. He has it pretty encoded. Wait, I just go through. My god! You couldn't believe the wealth of knowledge he had.
MC: Do me a favor and look up "Forerunner".
Cortona: On it Chief.
John looks over to one of the marines.
MC: Tell me, how did the Covenant find Earth?
Marine: It was Enco's fault. He lost a ship to the Covenant. They hacked it and stole all of our info. They have been moving through the inner colonies every since the Halo project started.
MC: My god, that Enco is one big ass screw up.
Spartan: Chief let me ask you this. How are so calm right now?
MC: Well, I know that this may be the last mission I have. So I want to enjoy it. I am mostly remembering my first Spartan group. We had a lot of good times.
The Spartan soldier does not like how Master Chief thinks this is his last mission. If the legend has lost hope why should he have any?
Spartan: What do you mean, last mission?
MC: I have always loved war; it has always been a game to me. And this game seems to be one I can't win. You saw how many there are. There are only eight of us and thousands of them. This is how I also imagined it, going out, taking them out. I wont give up until those bastards are at their last. This is what I have waited for.
Spartan: I won't let anything happen to you. I know that's not to much but you aren't dying as long as I or any other Spartan is here to help.
MC: That means a lot to me. Knowing that I got at least one person watching my back.
Cortona: John, I got some info on Forerunner.
MC: Go ahead
Cortona: It says here that the word Forerunner means history of the unknown.
MC: Keep looking for stuff.
Rat and his Spartan come walking through the door, covered in ammo. John hops up and walks over to them. He begins inspecting the ammo. He sees that it is mostly AR, Pistol, and Shotgun ammo. But there are a few things he hadn't seen before.
MC: What is some of this stuff?
Rat: Goodies, we got pulse grenades, sonic beams, and my personal favorite, Flamethrowers.
MC: CJ, how is it going?
CJ: Almost there, done. Give the word and you got full lockdown and weapons up.
MC: Rat, you got everything?
Rat: Yea.
MC: I am going to call back Enco.
Over the COM channel John calls for Enco.
Enco: Yea?
MC: Come back here now.
Enco: On the way.
MC: When they get back go to Omega-four.
CJ: You got it.
Spartan: Master Chief, you never told me why you are so relaxed.
John turns to the Spartan and looks right into his eyes.
MC: I guess it is because I feel safe, I feel at home.
A small smile appears on John's face and Enco enters the room.
MC: Lock down time.
The distant sound of metal slamming and locking in the distant is heard with a siren. Guns pop up from the ground and bombs all around the base activate.
Cortona: It seems the Covenant took that as an invite. They're heading this way.
MC: Well it's about time. Men I kid you not! This is going to be a hard ass fight. A fight we will no lose. When those bastards come through those doors we will not let them live. Every bullet that kills him or her will be for every person that has died in this war. We will not give up! We will not surrender! If we die, we die with honor!
The sound of blast scrapes and yells are heard as John finishes his speech. The Covenant is slowly burning through the metal walls. John knows this is going to be a hell of a fight. He just doesn't know who will win.
MC: All right, everyone in the sewer drain. I got a plan.
The Spartans find a hatch and enter the underground tunnel. They take all the ammo, weapons and what ever else thy need in with them.
MC: This should be a nice surprise for them.
Halo: The Return Part 7
Date: 21 August 2002, 3:42 am
Enco: Would you like to tell me why we are in the fall out tunnel?
John turns towards Enco with a slight smirk still on his face.
MC: It's a surprise. Oh, CJ I hope you locked down the system.
CJ: I will.
MC: To late time to go.
CJ: Rat pass me the Global Communicator.
Rat hands CJ a small screen. He begins to punch on some buttons, and soon he is finished. The Spartans move on and make their way to the outside. A rusted gate blocks the end of the tunnel; Enco puts on his spy scope and pulls out the cord from his wrist. He checks to see if there are any Covenant forces. He sees nothing, he calls for an all clear, and they bust down the gate. The Spartans file out and make their way towards the thick brush. John asks them how long it would take for the Covenant to burn through the metal doors. One of the Spartans replies that it would take about an hour. As John looks back he sees hundreds of Covenant making their way into the east wing.
Cortona: John your plan is working, all Covenant in the area have mostly entered the east wing. I suggest running.
MC: Troops, double time. It's going to be big.
CJ: What is?
MC: The explosion, I put about three level five red nukes in there.
All the Spartans stop at once, and look at John. "Three?" One of the Spartans asks. "That would level ten miles." John looks back at them and simply replies, "We better keep running then."
CJ: We have half an hour to cover ten miles of Covenant loaded fields.
MC: Like I said, we better keep running.
John takes off soon followed by the rest of the Spartans. John knows he needs to keep running. No matter what Covenant forces he sees he needs to keep going.
MC: Rat, give me a place to jump off of, a cliff maybe.
Rat: Closest cliff is about five miles.
Cortona: John you got a close Covenant base.
MC: How close?
Cortona: Two hundred yards.
MC: How many are there?
Cortona: About a hundred.
MC: Spartans, in a hundred and fifty yards we got a Covenant base of about one hundred. They shouldn't be a problem.
The Spartans ready their guns, and continue to run. The covenant base comes into view.
MC: NO STOPING! JUST RUN RIGHT THROUGH THE BASE. FIRE AT ANYTHING THAT GETS IN YOUR WAY.
John takes off through the base. Kicking Covenant, and shooting everywhere. He forces his way through Covenant forces. He knows that they still have a while but ten miles isn't something he wants to stop for; he knows that he better keep going. John is almost through all of it when he hears someone yell. He turns and sees a Spartan that had been tackled by a Hunter. It was trying to crush him. John turns and sprints for the Hunter. He sees that the armor on the Hunter is up some. As he comes in, John takes a grenade and shoves it up the back of the Hunter. John grabs the Spartan, throws him over his shoulder and carries him. The other Spartans are watching his back, taking out anything that gets close to them. The Hunter explodes taking the last few Covenant with it.
CJ: Twenty minutes.
MC: Everyone, grab a Ghost or Banshee and get out of here.
All of the Spartans look at each other. None know why Master chief is saying this. They know they can make it to the cliff. But John insists on everyone getting out of there. They all take a Ghost, except for the Arc's. They grab a pair of Banshee's and take off. They have always wanted to fly a Banshee but never could get the Elites out of them. As the Spartans blazed through the forest John grab the hurt Spartan and threw him over a Ghost. John took off hoping to get to the cliff in time. He knows he will but something isn't right to him. He takes off in the Ghost, flying over branches and bouncing off of rocks. The cliff is soon in sight. He can see the other Spartans waiting for him, he yells over the COM link.
MC: JUMP! TIME IS RUNNING OUT!
The Spartans have no clue if John has snapped our not. John tells them again just as he comes to the cliffs edge. He goes flying over the edge, sailing through the air. He leans back trying to stabilize the Ghost. The ground is flying at him, and with all of his force he reeves the Ghosts engine. Dust kicks as the Ghost lands hard. It can still move but just barley. As John looks back he sees the rest of the Spartans flying down the one hundred foot cliff. As they all land John hears Cortona tell him that the bomb is about to explode. Just as the rest of the Spartans land John hears a distant boom. He knows the bombs have exploded, and that the shockwave should hit at any minute. Before John can think he is sees tree trunks flying over the edge, rocks and boulders soon follow. John yells for the Spartans to run to avoid the falling rocks. As the Spartans make their way to a safe point John sees that there is nothing left. The bombs destroyed everything in the ten-mile radius. The cliff saved John and the other Spartans. Enco turns to John, with an enraged look.
Enco: Why did you blow up our HQ?
MC: We lost that base when the Covenant landed. If we let them keep it they would know everything about us. Blowing it up destroyed all the data. All the data for the entire Earth UNSC was linked there. The Covenant will leave now. They all ready killed all the civilians and most if not all of the UNSC forces. They have no reason to be here. Neither do we. Rat, CJ, find me the emergency launch pads.
Rat & CJ: On it sir.
MC: Everyone scan the area, and make sure we don't have any Covenant forces in the area.
Spartan Group: Sir! Yes Sir!
Cortona: John, I think I found out what the Forerunner are, or I should say were.
MC: Go ahead Cortona.
Cortona: It seems that the Forerunner were a race that lived on the planet that neighbored Halo. They were about five feet in average height. They were incredibly smart and strong. They were called planet hopers. That means they went from planet to planet, taking over and adapting others technologies. They became extremely strong, and powerful. Think of them as the Rome of Universe. But there was one thing that they found, that they could fight. A race in which they couldn't beat, that race was the Flood. Once the Forerunners had lost at the Floods home planet they went home to try and build up. But what they didn't know it that the Flood had attached themselves to some of the Forerunners ships. And when they landed they attacked. First the Flood brought back all of Forerunners dead to use as an army. Once the Forerunner knew they were going to lose they built Halo. After they finished they fled they planet and split onto different planets. The major problem was that they used Slipstream. It was new to them and they messed up. When they landed they had to adapt to their environments. Now get this, The Covenant are distant relatives of the Forerunner. When they landed they all had to evolve and after thousands of years they found each other and the Covenant were formed. They went back to their planet hoping ways. They found us and that's where the war started. When they returned to their home planet they found that Sigma Omega IV was their information home. They knew that Halo was something but its true meaning was lost in the annals of time. Some said that Halo was good other said Halo was a bad thing. They really should have listened to the ones that said it was bad. This is only the beginning it seems that the monitor has been around for millennia. He knew more than I think anyone could have every imagined.
MC: Good Job Cortona, keep that decoding going.
CJ: John, we found a base.
Rat: It is right over those mountains. Well I guess it is in those mountains.
MC: Good Job CJ, and Rat. Spartans fall in!
The Spartans make their way through the thick forest as they line-up.
MC: We have some new orders; we are going to leave Earth. But before we do that we are going to load up with everything we will need.
Spartan: Need for what?
MC: What we need to survive. So we are going to go to the base in the mountains over there.
John points to the mountains in the distant.
MC: But before that, we are going to rest. We have been through a lot. Enco, you are two other Spartans are on hunt. You two, you are on water. You what is your name?
Spartan: Mike Sir!
MC: Mike you lead water team. Rat you are on fire, try and find a cave. CJ, come with me. We will be taking the left over duties. I want a COM link check in every thirty minutes. Enco, when you find an animal call it in. I want everyone to check in back here at nightfall. Fall OUT!
